Welp, after buying a new gas stove a few weeks back to keep in case my old one goes out, looks like I'll be getting a spare top-load washer since my current one is 18 years old.

The DOE is supposed to set standards one these thing every 6 years but for washers and fridges, they haven't revised those standards since 2012. Honestly, would not be surprised if most of the new products out there already meet or exceed the standard that will be set.

So now you’re going to have to wash your clothes twice and use more water. Idiots.

Like the low flow shower heads that wont wash the shampoo out of your hair. (Until you learn you can remove the screw inside the head to get a normal, full flow).

Guess Ill keep my old washer and keep replacing parts as needed.

So just run twice and often or get bigger machines. It takes a certain amount of water and detergent to actually do the job.

Sort of like toilets. People will just flush twice.

We are using way too much water, this is a good thing. I’d like for water to still be abundant when my grandkids are growing up.

There is still as much water on Earth as there was when God created it. The water you use goes to your local sewage treatment plant where it is cleaned then discharged into a local river. Cities downstream from you pump that water out, send it to a water treatment plant and pump it into peoples houses.

Then the cycle repeats.
