I have a high energy efficient "uses less water" washing machine and it doesn't get work clothes clean on the first wash. Talking about grease, cow , grass stains, blood... etc. They are worthless.

We really do use and waste too much water, politics aside.

One of the few nice things about Louisiana is that water is practically infinite

How is it wasted? It is processed and returned to nature

There is the same amount of water on earth as there was a million years ago, unless the astronauts took some with them into space.

There is no shortage of water on earth and never has been.

There are shortages of water in individual locales, especially deserts and other arid places.

But not the earth in general.

Instead of lasting 5 years these will last 3 but they'll cost $1600.

Every time they make something "better" it takes years off the item's life. Washing machines and water heaters are two of the worst.

I love that they are freaking out about conserving a renewable resource. This is all because they are always in a water crisis in the West. Meanwhile in Louisiana we are drowning in water. Why can’t the West build a huge Reverse Osmosis plant(s) and take water from the Pacific? When I worked on ships and rigs, our drinking water was from the sea made by an RO unit.

If RO plants can’t keep up with demand, why not build pipelines similar to oil pipelines and take water from inland rivers, abundant lakes, etc?

I thought it already was done. Someone needs to explain why even washers today will run for over an hour cycle and clean less efficiently are better than the older ones that washed in 20 minutes
