For some of the fanbase that is in denial about the current state of the LSU program here is a summary of the message out of Atlanta:

1. Projected 5th in the West. Not 5th in the sec, the secw. That position includes being below MSU.
2. Only 5 players in the 3 Preseason all sec teams. That’s 5 out of 78 and one of those is a kicker.
3. LSU is relying on 2 grad transfers to lead our team.
4. The message from the week: 1. What is going on in Baton Rouge? 2. What will it take for O to get fired? 3. Ensminger was a safe choice who isn’t a top OC. 4. LSU made a multimillion dollar mistake by hiring canada.
5. This team might surprise people and get to 8 or nine wins.

For this of us who live outside of Louisiana I think it’s easier to see reality because we constantly hear what the unbiased opinion of LSU is. Universally it’s that LSU is an easy win this season.

I agree with most of your post and I think the delusion on this board is hilarious. However this statement is dumb. I don’t think any teams in the SEC believe this at this point. There are too many unknowns with this team and too much talent at LSU for them to be looked at as an easy win in the SEC.

Grammar.....

Oh, and congrats on your OPINION, and for sharing so many other people’s OPINIONS....

Truth is, nobody knows till they start hitting each other in earnest... and that’s fact.

So now we rely on the media to tell us how our season will go. Should we not play it out.

The media has successfully picked the SEC champion 6 times in the LAST 20 YEARS..........I’m not putting much stock into that shite. When LSU beats the breaks off Miami and UGA y’all chicken Littles can join the fricken bandwagon

Who exactly counts on LSU being an easy win? We’ll be ranked 5th or lower in total defense so that alone will keep us in most games we play.

how do you come to this conclusion? that's definitely not the case, just because LSU is being looked at as a 6 or 7 win team doesn't mean it will roll over.

personally, i think there's a certain elements missing on this team that will prohibit them from competing for a division, conference and/or national title.

QB situation is again in flux, big question marks at RB, just an overall question mark on offense with Ensminger taking the helm.

you could say it's much easier to craft an offense around beastly RB's like we've had recently, but how does this offense consistently move the chains and convert 3rd down and short to intermediate?

defense should be very good, but their margin for error might be slimmer than you think considering how long it might take for the offense to come along.

the offense definitely isn't going to be some well-oiled machine to start the season...and we play 2 critical games in September alone.

I can promise you no one on the schedule will consider LSU an easy win this year.

Living out of state myself, I hear the exact opposite. Overall opinion of the program is still quite strong outside of our bubble. Maybe that partially has to do with the number of players we have in the NFL, but I've never heard us considered an easy win.

Hell, just a couple of weeks ago I was asked by an Iowa fan why Les was fired.

We all get it. Leslie left the cupboard empty. The trenches were bad.

Lol. Lsu is an easy win this season.

You know national media are copycats. They don't do research. They followed Phil Steele in his rank of #120 in the nation in returning starters/experience. Phil was wrong, he didn't do his homework.

I believe lsu will be an upgrade at every position group, but rb.

We were 6-2 in the SEC last year and our team is better this year imo. I’m not saying we are only going to lose 2 games but I don’t see us with a worse record this year.

I saw enough from the media when they named that DB from bama as a first teamer. They don't have a clue.

If Donte Jackson tackles the receivers from Florida and Notre Dame, we would all think much differently about the state of the LSU program. Amazing how two plays can alter perception so much.
