Meh, all the voting is from reporters that don't really dig deep into any of this year's teams as much as regirgitating and looking at what's coming back from last year. We have a bunch of unproven potential, but no household names yet. I could care less what the likes of Greg McElroy and like think about our team right now. I only care what they think by the start of November when we really start needing their votes.

This is perfect situation and my eyes are wide open. Our team will be very good this year. Reporters read headlines and follow the pack in making picks. Our defense will be the best since 2011, Joe B will get the start and play well, and our offense will be very good to compliment a great D. I think we win 10 games minimum.

Ok. So we won 6 SEC games last year. With a 3home 5 road schedule. 4th overall behind Auburn Bama And UGA. All top ten teams. We added UGA and Miami to the schedule. We added depth and upgraded all across the roster. Defensive front seven far better on paper. We were average to below average on the defensive front for the last two years from a talent and depth standpoint. We had a game in which one of our Dline played every play last year. We had a road game that we traveled with only 4 Dlinemen. Offensive line is better on paper(our Oline has been very average for several years). We are unproven at RB and QB. Guice for all the good things he did was not the Guice of 2016 last year (hurt and or protecting himself for the draft). We have been average at best at QB mostly below average. I get it, Burrow Brennan Narcisse are all unproven. All of them have better upsides then Etling ever did. So our team has improved across the board. Our 2019 recruiting looks very good. But somehow we are supposed to accept that LSU is going backwards. Other than the schedule. I could not disagree more. The good news is we get to actually play the games. Burrow growth curve will determine whether LSU is 10 and 2 vs 8 and 4.

Perhaps, but this is all speculation.

I think there is a very high probability LSU finishes between 7-9 wins.

Can’t see less barring a disaster and can’t see more barring something truly unexpected.

I would be happy with 9, 8 is my chalk, and disappointed with 7.

‘19 will be a championship caliber team.

I don't think Orgeron is the guy, but this shite is getting sooooo old. The season is one month away. Let's see if they finish 5th in the West. I don't think it's going to play out like that

Relying on the Media to tell you what to believe.......What could be wrong with that...

1. Projected 5th in the West. Not 5th in the sec, the secw. That position includes being below MSU. 2. Only 5 players in the 3 Preseason all sec teams. That’s 5 out of 78 and one of those is a kicker.

Pure opinions:
as for #1 .. these are the same people that picked LSU LAST in BBAll ..remember ?

as for # 2, we have to wait .. we are at about 7 % so slightly above what would be average "share"

But frankly.... I have watched these programs longer that you have been alive and I have yet to see one that got it correct.

I think we will be fine and do better than expected.

what do you think our record will be ?

That’s not totally true... SEC media day prediction for LSU:

Year. Prediction. Outcome
2017 3rd. 3rd
2016. 2nd 3rd
2015. 3rd. T-3rd
2014. 3rd. T-4th
2013. 3rd. 3rd

Exact, no, but they have been fairly accurate.

when I look at all of the changes last/this upcoming season, I do not put much credibility on their predictions.

This is the year of major upsets in the SEC.
I do not think Alabama or Georgia will go undefeated, regardless how they look on paper.

Call me crazy, but I expect us to come in around 3 in the West. Remember, WE do not have to be 100% responsible for the downfall of others.

There's no future. Shut the program down. We're all doomed. Get out while you can.

Although I was defending the SEC media day prediction for past accuracy, in no way am I saying that I believe we’ll end up fifth this upcoming year. I believe we’ll finish around 3rd. I do not have enough confidence in our head coach to finish any higher, although I have plenty of confidence in Aranda and his defense. Without Aranda then I would see us at 5th or worse

I believe that the media looks down on LSU because of Coach O it’s nothing to to do with the players we have because we have just as talented players as Alabama, Georgia and Auburn but still unknown at QB. They will get there respect when they start winning the big games.

Perhaps "the media" recalls that LSU got absolutely skullfricked and crushed by Miss St. by 30 damn points last year yaw yaw yaw why bring up old stuff rabble rabble

This was the same media reaction LSU received when they hired this little midget of a coach for Michigan State. I believe his name was Nick something? And he/we lost to UAB 13-10 and got throttled by Florida 41-9! History is repeating itself. Lord help us.

We were 6-2 in the SEC last year and our team is better this year imo. I’m not saying we are only going to lose 2 games but I don’t see us with a worse record this year.

A&M went and got a better coach. State will be improved. I’ve got to think Mullen will have Florida playing better

Let’s evaluate after week 1. We’ve all seen this movie before...The talking heads will change their tune if we leave Dallas with a win.
