You’re aware that the expression “delusional optimism” is in no way facetious when used in regards to this fan base, yes?

No team has ever won a game on paper. You have to play the games to win or loae. Too many variables happen during a season, week or in a game to make these ridiculous statements. Some of you people are fricking chicken littles with your sky is falling mentaity

I hope that an idiot like you realizes that the media has only predicted the sec championship game participants correctly from each side 6 times in 26 years.

Perhaps "the media" recalls that LSU got absolutely skullfricked and crushed by Miss St. by 30 damn points last year

You're pretty quick man. Last year doesn't mean squat. The media picked Bama to win the west last year.

What does that have to do with anything. Nick Saban lost to UAB his first year at LSU. And got beat 41- 9 by Florida. The next year he won the SEC championship, with a 5-3 SEC record. Those were his 7th and 8th years as a head coach.

It's one thing to say it's an easy win and it's a whole other thing to actually come beat LSU easily. That's won't happen this year and I'll bet the house on it.

The SEC had a hard time with this team last year with less depth at QB, DL, OL, LB and WR. We have much more player experience at these positions in 2018 to go along with depth behind them.

Guys like E. Alexander, G. Logan (who's lost a ton of weight btw), R. Lawrence, Fehoko, T. Shelvin, N. Ferrell, J. Thomas, D. Cambell, J. Savage, L. Cushenberry, A. Magee, G. Brumfield, E. Ingram, S. Charles, A. Deculus, D. White, M. Divinity (who was hurt LY), A. Anthony (who was hurt), R. Thorton, K. Chassion, J. Phillips, P. Queen, T. Taylor, K. Fulton (who may make it back this year), E. Monroe, E. Paris, J. Battle, A. Williams, J. Stevens, G. Delpit, T. Harris, K. Vincent, M. Netherly, J. Kirkland, K. Joseph, Alexander, S. Sullivan, D. Davis, D. Anderson, D. Dillon, J. Giles, R. McMath, J. Jefferson, F. Moreau, J. Washington, T. Carter, D. Ducre, N. Brossette, CE. Helaire, L. Fournette, Curry, J. Burrow, M. Brennan, L. Narcise, J. McMillan.

Most of these guys played last year or were in contention to play then got injured or didn't play for what ever reason. Then add the freshman class who are ahead of schedule to add depth and play the first 4 games. We have talent everywhere and anyone who thinks they will run through this team is highly misguided and doesn't know WTF they talking about or just has their eyes close and hoping for the best.

I hope the entire nations and especially the SEC thinks that LSU will be an easy victory because they will lose that game while we say "poor us", it's just too bad that no one believes. Who gives a flying frick what people perceive. People's perception can be extremly wrong especially in the football fandom world. People see what they want to see or hope they see. That's not reality. The reality is that list of players is coming for some redemption in 2018. LSU is very dangerous when counted out and pissed off.

They hear all these fans talk about their coach and their level of play. You better believe that this team still has pride, talent and these kids really believe that LSU has some of the best coaches in the country who have multiple assistants to analyze film of the opponent ahead of schedule.

Miami is first on the hit list. Beat Miami to start, whip up on SE the next week then go into Auburn and start 3-0. If LSU can do that then the momemtum and perception has flipped a complete 180, so frick what they think a month before play! GO TIGERS!!!

The games have to be played, but it is way more likely that we 7-5 or 8-4 than the 10-2 or 11-1 like some of these idiots on here are predicting. I can't wait to read the melts from these pumpers when we start 2-2 or worse.

the offense definitely isn't going to be some well-oiled machine to start the season...and we play 2 critical games in September alone.
Don’t know if anybody at LSU has any power to veto a schedule like we have this year - prob not - but surely LSU is not being well served by schedule makers this year.

Yes because sports radio and writers always are dead on with predictions. Last year most had Florida St., Michigan, and USC in the Top 10. Michigan and Florida St. finished unranked. Most fans are hopeful because we have more talent on the roster than most of the teams we at. Also the transfer comment is pretty dumb, you think going and getting a transfer for QB was dumb? That's negative in a way?

Oh, and congrats on your OPINION, and for sharing so many other people’s OPINIONS....

Truth is, nobody knows till they start hitting each other in earnest... and that’s fact.

This is an example of denial now. People who actually saw LSU decline last season are trying to say, wait because you don’t know. Well we do know because past performance is one indicator of future results. That includes how one might not see the facts from those games from Missouri on in 2016 as an indicator of what to expect. In 2016, all of Os wins were against teams ranked with a rushing defense at the bottom of all division 1 football outside of Southern Miss. Even Louisville wasn’t the same team due to loss of their best 3 defensive players (LBs) and dlineman). In 2016 LSU had the number 1 OLine that Miles left with 2 top running backs playing the worse rushing defenses in the country.
Last season was no different. Terrible programs - sos much so that all of the wins except Auburn ( and at the time fans were calling for Malzahns Head) including Utah were against coaches who were fired.

This is why people have blinders and support this proven loser.

In 2015, Miles played the 5th hardest schedule - not the 30th - in the country and had better overall results than last season.
