Woody gave them hell but you can't force pen to paper. Stoops is going to have to come in and see immediate success and Woody thinks he will. It's going to be a long offseason however.

To be fair, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a coach to want to leave a school that hasn’t won a championship since he was in high school and when he got to witness first hand how far off Oklahoma is compared to a modern day football school.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable that he saw how quickly Missouri faded into irrelevance when it joined the sec and can see the same fate written on the wall.
It’s not unreasonable to be tired of working twice as hard in recruiting as LSU and still struggling to crack the top 10 recruiting classes can, while we churn out top 5 classes with a literal moron at the helm.
I think in the end you’re probably right. Riley isn’t coming. But I would argue that it’s much more unrealistic to continue to count Oklahoma among the elite than it is for LSU fans to think we have a shot at luring a good coach from a school beneath his stature.

Most of the OU team wasn't even alive the last time OU won a National Championship. The current team will be deep into their 30's before OU wins another one.
