How bad could he be, if they are interviewing David Shaw.

I mean he did have a winning season his first year at 9-7 and then followed it up with 6-10.

That would be an improvement for the Saints from what they did last year.

Saban could do a 2-3 year stint, stabilize the franchise and retire.

Hilarious that you even mention this as a possibility.

The Saints have a better chance at winning the Super Bowl this year...and their season is over.

Yes, the Saints who are one of the 2 worst openings for HC in the NFL are going to get Nick Saban out of retirement.

Let Nick Saban ride into the sunset. Let him be on gameday. He doesn't need to coach anymore.

Based on what lol?

The only sample we have of him as a pro coach is that he sucked. As the other poster said, he had full control and a generous owner and couldn’t do it in the pros.

Plus he’s older now and it’s clear his best days are in the past

Saban took over a 4-12 program and went 9-7 and 6-10. I don’t know what miracles people expected in two years.

How do some people function in life when they post things like this. Do you just throw ideas that are bad in your work and hope no one notices?

Saban hated the NFL. If he ever wanted to go back to the NFL, he had multiple opportunities over the last 15 years to do so.

Answer is no the Saints should not look at him and No for Saban even thinking of coaching in NFL let alone the Saints.

Saban is an excellent organizer and a task master. He demands absolute dedication to his systems.

However, he is an average coach when his talent level is not vastly superior than his opponents. Even he knows this. It’s why he quit coaching when other schools became able to pay players.

I mean, he was terrible at Miami in his prime... which means Loomis will probably hire him

He is 72 and loves life. He looks happier then ever doing what he is doing now. Ms Terry would cut off both balls should he go back to coaching. And why would you want to coach rich spoiled entitled players who are now being paid in college.

What does 20 years ago have to do with it? Pros and college are different games. Saban isn’t a pro coach. He figured it out and went back to college where he could thrive. His status as an elite college coach was never a question so I’m not sure what point you’re making there
