What do we make of LSU announcing all Defensive hires, but not Offensive?

Could they be waiting on whether or not Hankton takes another job?

If they were going with Sloan/Hankton as Co-OCs and Nagle as TE/ST, why wouldn't they have already done it?

Because maybe they aren’t going with the co-OC option?

Nothing. I trust whatever Brian Kelly is doing is probably the correct thing.

We can't announce a TE coach that hasn't been hired yet.

If they were firing Matt House, they would have already done it. - Said before the bowl game

If they were hiring any DC not in the playoff, they would have already done it. -Said before the playoffs.

Remember, it took them weeks to announce Raymond even though it appears the deal was already done in advance. Could be the same situation with Sloan/Hankton, Nagle.

I don't know, but i do like how tight lipped lsu is with their coaching changes and how most "rumors" have been wrong!

I believe they are probably waiting on finalizing a TE coach. Nagle interviewed, supposedly, but I also read somewhere he interviewed other places like Ole Miss. I am sure Kelly is now doing due diligence on that side of the ball before finalizing.

Defense was certainly top priority, and probably in the works for a while so they were able to move fast. I imagine offense moves a little faster now that the defensive staff seems to be set in place.

He knew the defensive side was in critical condition and needed attention first. The offensive side of the ball is in good shape and potentially all the pieces minus TE are already in place just not "announced".

Finally we have administrative staff and a head coach who know the meaning of the word confidential. As fans, we must embrace the word patience.

We’ve made exactly ZERO hires on the offensive side of the ball. What is he supposed to announce?

Aside from Baker and Davis, they waited to announce the other 3 hires until they could announce them together. (Likely because DC and DL coach were the most pressing needs for recruiting purposes.) On offense, recruiting hasn’t been a concern, so there’s no pressure to announce anything. I suspect they’re simply waiting until the entire offensive staff is in place before announcing.

and Nagle as TE/ST,

No idea if Nagle will be the hire, but I do think they're probably trying to figure out what they're gonna do with ST before finalizing the staff. If it is Nagle, he could also coach ST. Olsen could coach ST too. Or they could split it. Olsen, the defensive guy, could handle kicking/coverage teams, and Nagle, the offensive guy, could handle return teams. Or they could hire a ST coordinator and not a full-time TE guy. They could work with the OL during blocking drills and WR during receiving drills. And maybe Kelly could focus his on-field attention to helping the TEs.

I have no idea. It could go a few different ways. And each way would not only affect duties, but titles and salaries. But I think the priority right now may be more figuring out how they want to handle ST rather than simply trying to find the best TE coach they can.

Does not matter. We will know soon enough. In BK I trust. Well at least until he proves otherwise.

Because the next OC is on a team that's still playing.

Because that’s the side of the ball that needed to be addressed first haha. Did you watch last season and the bowl game?

It could be that they are done hiring coaches and the 10th on field coach is Jancek as ST coordinator. Not sure how they would handle TE in that case, but it could be split between Brad Davis and Hankton.
