You have to sell kids on the CHANCE when you are at a non-P5 program.

And if Tulane had won out this year, and it was a 12 team playoff, they would have been in the playoffs.

That's what you do, sell them on the dream.

Do you guys have enough coaches to prepare for the Military Bowl? Is Sumrall coaching your bowl game?

Slade Nagle has been appointed as the interim HC and will be coaching the game. Sumrall will attend and let Nagle run the show. First football practice starts on 12/18/23 as Sumrall has already met with the team as many players are very excited to play for Sumrall next year and the future. IMO, Tulane made a home run hire as Sumrall is a players' coach who gets it.

As a UH fan, I think they were just doing their jobs.

As an Aggie fan, I think it’s bullshite when coaches pull two-faced crap like that.

I’d rather run out a bunch of GA’s and celebrity coaches like Drew Brees instead of letting those assholes hang around the team all day and recruit for Houston

Saying you are going to win a national title at Tulane is retarded. Someone forward me a link to where Nick Saban told the Toledo fans that they were going to win a national title?

With a 12 team playoff it’s possible. Tulane would have made such a playoff last year and won the first round

Is it likely? No. But it’s now possible at least

He better figure out how to recruit or attempt to like it for once. Otherwise winning with other dudes players will only take him so far.

In the transfer portal era these guys basically had unfettered access to tamper 24/7, hold private meetings to induce Tulane players to transfer to Houston, send out offers for their new job while working in the team building.

shite like that happened to us after Napier left but other coaches stayed to "help" Mike Dez coach the bowl game.

I know the NCAA has "rules" about the transfer portal, but they turn a blind eye to whatever the P5 programs do, and it's obvious. Player enters the portal and somehow has his destination decided in less that 12 hours.

Sumrall was right to do this. Even if it means Tulane has to play with a literal skeleton coaching staff for the bowl game.

Once you realize who you're replying to, it'll make sense and you'll stop trying to respond with reason.

Better to ignore.

Then they would have been in the final 8 with by far the least talent of those teams. Flukes can only take you that far, at some point you have to actually be that good

They were also good enough to beat the Big 12 champ Kansas State in Manhattan.

Keep an eye on Sumrall. Been following his journey for years as I worked with his wife while he was at Tulane back in 2011ish.

Guy is gonna end up getting a sec gig within a few years.

Probably Florida when they are done with Napier.
