Didn’t help that they were working to get kids to transfer to UH.

Normally when a coach leaves, the staff will stay behind to coach the bowl game

In the transfer portal era these guys basically had unfettered access to tamper 24/7, hold private meetings to induce Tulane players to transfer to Houston, send out offers for their new job while working in the team building.

A lot of shady shite was going on. Hence why they were told to go ahead and depart

The new coach acted all high and mighty and said he wouldn’t ask any of his Troy coaches to move over with him until after a bowl game because they should be committed to the finish the season. Funny, he left before the bowl game. So now I hope the new coach at Troy treats his old coaches the same way.

I hope the new coach fires all of the Troy staff so Sumrall can get to hiring the guys he wants to on staff NOW instead of waiting for the bowl game to be over.

The Tulane staff were actively recruiting current players to Houston.

Why would any player want to leave Tulane? Coach said they were going to play for a national title.

What a retarded thing to say.

Multiple reports said the coaches were actively recruiting players to Houston.

Good for Sumrall. There was talk when Urban Meyer was hanging around UF that he was pilfering all of UF's player evaluations, working with UF assistants to get them to go to Ohio St. with him, begin recruiting for Ohio St, against UF, and things like that. This was when Meyer stepped down but was getting paid, still in the building - sort of like an ambassador position. UF pledged to pay him seven figures to not coach, just to be there, "get treatment" and get healthy. In return, allegedly, he stabbed UF in the back. There were times when Muschamp alluded to things but never came out with details - he should have let it all fly.

McCleskey is probably the main guy to stay. I would also think that the strength coach would be retained as well. Nagle being retained as the TE coach or whatever might also be an option as long as he doesn't have anything to do with planning the offense.

Saying you are going to win a national title at Tulane is retarded. Someone forward me a link to where Nick Saban told the Toledo fans that they were going to win a national title?

Players are going to tune that far fetched nonsense out with the quickness.

At the time Toledo was never going to play in the national title GAME. In a tournament anything is possible.

He hates every other non-LSU Louisiana school. I think he’s a sidewalk fan who thinks Louisiana colleges are analogous to the NFC south or something.

Win the conference and get in the tournament and anything is possible. Nobody gave them a chance last year in the Cotton Bowl against the Heisman winner but what happened? He didn't say anything wrong, might never happen but it wasn't a bad thing to say.
