So lets recap.

All week we have growing amounts of smoke plumming daily. Confirmed insiders saying this thing is getting done and looking good.

Eventually the numbers get leaked, along with some big details to regional guy Jboy. He puts it out live on air.

National media big wigs storm in and throw a HUGE bucket of water on the fire. Bruce Feldman saying it's not going to happen would end almost any rumor.

Yet, once this bucket is empty. What do we see? A huge plume of smoke billowing once more. Our guys are doubling down saying what they've been saying. Saying unless Oklahoma matches, and they most likely won't we've got our guy.

What kind of rumor can survive a Feldman whack? I'll tell you what kind. One with legs.

When Feldman said it was over with Freeman, what did we do? We said "Ahh shite it's over"

This time Feldman says it's over? Our guys double down?

That's because this thing has legs baw, and I believe until otherwise told by our wise sages.

To be fair, national college football media said Herman was going to LSU and that ended up being wrong. Maybe this time they are wrong about Riley

yeah this one is interesting because Feldman is in with the B12 and Riley so he has a direct line to him.

Not sure what to believe. I know OU wont let him walk for nothing

All I know is. Gruss doesn't bullshite. IF Riley was out, Gruss would just say so.

The Friday before the Florida game, He posted Coach O was 100% already fired.

We go and win the game and everyone starts saying "What do we do now, how can you fire him?"

Sunday comes along, Coach O has been fired, after a W. Because again, it was already done and he shared it with us when it was done.

That's just his most recent example

I wonder if Riley’s people talked with Feldman to get the heat off him for the next two weeks so he can finish out the season

One thing we know is that the national media in college football is lazy. They rarely know the nuances of what’s really happening, and if the do, they get it two weeks after everything is finished. So it’s not unreasonable to surmise that Feldman is talking out of his arse.

Yes, it is unreasonable to assume that Feldman would tweet something lazy just because of some of his peers. his credibility is well established when it comes to these things. not saying what he said was definitive, but he did not come up with that out of thin air he was told by credible people how they feel about it. he has a reputation to uphold.

I would say this was the case maybe thirty years ago. It’s not about upholding a reputation of accuracy anymore. It’s about being first, and it’s about getting views and likes.

For many of them yes. But reporters like Feldman and Dellenger actually do break stories and they have to maintain their relationships with their sources. just blurting things out they dont know is correct to get the most clicks can backfire.

but yeah, jboy and your hot take artists are absolutely going to try to jam unsubstantiated bs through the airwaves to get clicks.

Lincoln is not denying the move as strongly as Jimbo is. Jimbo to LSU doesn't make any sense. He will eventually put together a couple of top 2 or 3 classes and win a NC. I don't think Lincoln quite has it as good. I think Lincoln can improve his recruiting a little bit at LSU, improve his net worth by 30 - 40 % and win a NC like the last 3 LSU couaches. I think the Lincoln smoke is strong - with Aranda the backup plan.

and then there was Joe Alleva who got butt hurt by Herman playing the game and made a knee jerk reaction and hired the layup.

I disagree. They cater to the casuals, who have short term memories, and are more lazy than they are. We, on the other hand, understand Feldman is talking out of his arse, and is basing his reasoning on Oklahoma’s past success and reputation that national media types work to uphold (for some reason). It’s obvious he’s unwilling to understand the nuances of why Riley is listening to Scott, so he scoffs, and blurts out, “Riley’s staying at OU.” In today’s coverage, Vol and TBL are more trustworthy than Feldman and Dellenger.

Feldman's sources at LSU are Orgeron and his portly henchman. So anything Feldman put out about LSU while Orgeron was the HC was pretty solid. That said, I doubt LSU is keeping Orgreron in the loop on the coaching search...at all. So, whatever Feldman is reporting would be coming from an OU "source".

When Feldman reported about Freeman you could take the information as solid because it was coming directly from O. The information he has about the LSU coaching search is MOST DEFINTIELY not coming from O. And if it is, it is unreliable.
