Tiger Tub has zero sources connected with Woodward

Woodward has more power in this hire than Tate

Mel Tucker is the Mike Bianco of this hire

That's true but I think the majority of this fan base is flat out done with Presidents and BoS calling shots. It's the typical Louisiana political bullshite.

As we all know, they are paying the buyout

Concerning b/c Tate is getting way too involved and he is an idiot if he thought that he could keep the buyout from O. O would definitely fight it in court

I don't think there's anything wrong with Franklin but if the rumors of Tate wanting a minority hire, missing on Franklin would immediately get you to bad candidates. I'm not sure Franklin has warranted the amount of money he's about to get paid either. If LSU must hire a minority then Franklin is the best candidate hands down.

I think it's super premature to throw out Tucker as he can go 0-4 the next 4 games and that would have to make him out of running. But if he goes 3-1 or 4-0 then i can see him as a reasonable candidate.

Any system president pushing for a hire based on skin pigment should be scrutinized. Regardless of presidents skin tone.

You progs are.a racist bunch

Exactly. Also, he's going to be good enough to not allow us to move on from him while probably not being elite to challenge for titles. And he's going to be getting $8-10M/year so the buyout will be insane.

Franklin isn't a bad coach (although his results at PSU are mediocre) but he's likely not a title coach and he's a major trap.

It’s one thing for the University President to be involved. Probably very appropriate.
But it’s another thing when his involvement likely means, based on his 25 years of academic research focus, that he is far more focused on race than merit when giving his input on the hire.
Someone is getting the keys to a multimillion dollar business. Race shouldn’t matter one bit. You hire the best man for the job. Period.

He's from PA but he didn't go to PSU or coach there prior. He went to some D2/3 school in PA for college.

Just saying...in terms of Tate wanting to be involved. He can be involved all he wants, but that doesn't mean he's going to get what he wants.
This.

He might hold the title "President" but in Louisiana, we all know who runs shite at LSU.

I understand the sentiment, but as long as OSU is elite, there will be a near guaranteed ceiling for PSU.

My issue with Franklin is that he isn't NEARLY as good of a candidate as some people think he is (based on actual history at a major program) and he's going to demand to be PAID like he has those sorts of skins on the wall.

Right - Franklin is a legit candidate, but is priced 1 class higher than his performance warrants.

That's probably true of Jimbo and that scares me because our AD made that hire (now, make no mistake, the market was crazy then so while it doesn't make sense in hindsight, it did at the time).

LSU fans are pipedreaming again. They think Fickell and Franklin, guys who are basically home, are going to jump for LSU. USCw? Maybe. Sadly, we are probably down to Tucker already, which may work out, but he won't be getting hired on football credentials.

Really, Aranda doesn't have the head coaching credentials either, but what he has over Tucker is high level performance recently, and at LSU. Tucker is having his best year in almost a decade. Silly to make a decision based on 1 year at 1 school.

I wouldn't either, but he turned down the NFL to stay at ISU so I just can't see LSU competing with an NFL job.

Oh yeah if we go with Tucker over Aranda I will M-E-L-T.

There is no logical or rational reason to pick Tucker over Aranda. None. I'd need to see/hear an actual recording of Aranda turning down the LSU job to not go nuclear.
