Paying someone based on one season is a huge mistake.

Exactly what I was describing earlier.

Franklin screams "purgatory".

Nobody wants a "diversity" hire. Hires for the sake of diversity are retarded.

Minority or white, no one gives a rats arse as long as its a viable candidate. Tucker is a stretch.

Understand, but I think he's done enough so that he legitimately belongs in the grouping of candidates, that's all.

Franklin has only tied for a division lead once in his time at Penn State. I don't like that at all, he usually finishes second or third and never been in the playoff. If you can't at least win your division or vie for the conference title, what will you do elsewhere?

Tate only power lies with JBE, JBE is a lame duck Governor who nobody on the BOS has anything to fear from. I think Tate will try to throw his weight around but in the end he will be told by the BOS to go sit down because, they are running him as soon as JBE is out of office.

Tucker with a good OC and young DC (maybe Schumann) could work but then you’re back to the relying on coordinators (particularly OC as Tucker at least has defensive chops)

No thanks

Also keep having visions of Ensminger’s offense going HAM on that ‘18 UGA defense

Yeah go look at Franklin's total time at PSU. It's not that great at all. I have NO idea where this hype is coming from.

I mean he's going to want $8-10M/year. You have to project as an ELITE guy for that, and Franklin simply doesn't have that.

He's definitely a better candidate than Tucker/Aranda, but he's going to be a lot more expensive than they will.

Tate though is Scott’s boss, would lose a power struggle with Scott. Woodward and the folks that are paying for this buyout hold the cards here. Tate can be involved but he isn’t forcing shite

I agree with this 100%.

I think Woodward will hire the best person he can. Even if Tate is the one leaking things, there is definitely an upside to it. If that hire isn't a minority, it is already 'public' that LSU has/had an interest in minority candidates. Perception is key and it cannot be perceived that LSU ignores minority candidates.

Franklin is pretty similar to Ed as well. He’s a rah rah recruiting guy. And his lack of QB development is scary. They’ve been an elite QB away from CFP consideration it seems like every year. I don’t hold 2020 against him.

I think he’d do fine. I like the upside of Tucker more.

Fickell and probably Napier are still my top 2.

If Tate were white, for some reason I dont think there’d be nearly the preemptive melt about his involvement as there is now.
And if he were white and screamed I want to hire a white coach there would be a complete melt you can’t have it fricking one way

LE broke it down the other day. A couple Les Milesy losses almost every year. I think he peaked that year with Barkley and Moorhead at OC

That is going to always be tough to do with OSU in the division.

I don't know if Napier is even the best coach in the Sun Belt I don't know why this guy is getting so much hype from this fanbase.

Aranda is God amongst this fanbase.

No one gives a rats arse over the race of the HC, what they do care about is finding the best candidate.

Luckily LSU doesn't have any powerhouses in their division...
