Its very early, almost everyone is going to "decline" interest in the job...

While their agent eventually starts inquiring behind the scenes and very quietly.

Ohio State is a bigger force in the Big Ten than even Alabama is in the SEC

There’s so much left to happen this season that could mark coaches off the list. So all of these people trying to eliminate candidates out of the race 1 day into it is silly. If MSU doesn’t finish strong, that eliminates Tucker. Franklin could make a run to the CFP and that would probably keep him at Penn State. And you can go on and on with every coaching candidate and a scenario that eliminates them from the race. The hire will be someone with a strong resumé, in a place in their career that makes sense to come to LSU, and wants the challenge of being in the SEC West. With that being said, we’re all just speculating now and anyone who predicts the right coach, was just luck.

Disagree. Bama is the largest force in what is easily the most dominant conference.

This might be true, but the point remains: if Franklin can't ever overcome OSU at Penn State, can he consistently overcome Bama at LSU?

LSU needs to make visionary hires and go for guys that can take the program to the next level of greatness, not simply solid.

Because a white president couldn't hold racist beliefs like Tate and be allowed to serve..

CRT isn't about equality. Its a racist fairy tale that demonizes everyone else.

Luckily LSU doesn't have any powerhouses in their division...

I don’t have any intentions towards being biased with Franklin, but if getting out of the division in a major conference matters that much for the current crop of coaching candidates, then where the frick do you go then?

Easily. The results prove it.

Cristobal supposedly is holding out Alabama.

Tate's a political hire with an agenda. He'll be gone with the next Governor. Woodward, and the Money, need to stand their ground.

Would love for them to hire him.

I think it’s actually easier to overtake Alabama than it is Ohio State, as crazy as that sounds. 3 different SEC programs have won titles since Saban has been at Alabama. UGA has been on the cusp as well.

How long would he be willing to do that? Saban can legitimately coach deep into his 70s

Have you watched him in interviews? Don't think that demeanor will last long down here. Can he recruit the south? Does his time at Vandy still leave him with relationships?

Since your stupid thread got whacked. I want to post this response to you stating LSU fans just don't want Franklin because he is black.

This take is infuriating.

I actually never considered Franklin to be black until this coaching search pointed it out. Didn't give any thought to his race.

I understand now he is biracial.

This is the type of shite we have to deal with now, because of Tate and people like you. I am thankful your shite thread got whacked.

I think Frankin is a solid coach and what he did at Vandy is miraculous. I believe he does play a grind it out style of offense that can be a bit frustrating. I prefer LSU aims even higher, but absolutely would be okay with Franklin over many of the other names mentioned. Especially Tucker. And again, has nothing to do with race.

Saban will be 70 in two weeks.

Cristobal rebuilt the lines at Oregon. That was their weakness with Chip and Helfrich. They dominated OSU up front, which is shocking.

You think he will? I’m thinking he hangs it up within 5 years
