Make a hire, like tucker based on diversity and I will stop my TAF donation, give up my season tickets and RV parking spot the next day.

If Tate were white, for some reason I dont think there’d be nearly the preemptive melt about his involvement as there is now.

You are not wrong, but neither would there be intercession on his behalf by the system President. It absolutely cuts BOITH ways. It is what it is.

Lol, yes he is wrong.

They're (rightfully) worried that Tate will demand a diversity hire instead of the best, most qualified candidate.

That has ZERO to do with Tate or anyone else being white or black. It's everything to do with woke bullshite

I despise the academics that are white pushing this stuff. The African Americans that either buy into or hustle it for wealth and power I can at least understand. They have engrained it in the minds of kids for decades. How could some not be bitter and anti-white?

I think Frankin is a solid coach and what he did at Vandy is miraculous. I believe he does play a grind it out style of offense that can be a bit frustrating. I prefer LSU aims even higher, but absolutely would be okay with Franklin over many of the other names mentioned. Especially Tucker. And again, has nothing to do with race.

This. Most of the complaints about Franklin center on how much he will have to be paid and how that lines up with his lack of division, conference and national championships. That, and the fact that his offense tends to be very conservative by todays standards. You are basically paying a little less for the results that Jimbo has been getting at A&M.

That said, Franklin is definitely a big step up in class from O. He may not be a top X and O head coach, but he’s far more professional and organized and he’s really raised the level of recruiting over the last few years at PSU. I think he would hire a strong staff and kill it here in that regard.

The issue is the same as with Jimbo- can Franklin win titles here. He would no doubt be very good. I think he would makes us the solidly second best program in the West on a consistent basis, but can he beat Saban and win it before the man retires? I think the jury is out on that.

Please list all the coaches that the jury is not out on in regards to this issue. I'll hang up and listen.

Read the entire post. It’s that you are paying a premium up front for Franklin just because he’s at PSU. You are right that no one stacks up to Saban and screams they will make you instantly competitive with Bama year in and year out, but you won’t be paying Tucker, Aranda or others $9 mil a year for that. At least not until they put a skin on the wall for you.

It comes down to this- does his longer P5 track record and current job make him worth $2-3 mil more per year than these other candidates?
