I think Campbell is a great coach but if he's not committed to recruiting there is zero chance you hire him or Aranda for that matter you need HC that can seal the deal and sell the program.

I’ve always thought Campbell would be a great hire. Probably the most similar resume to Saban out there. As far as recruiting goes there aren’t many 5 stars getting in line for Ames, IA. I’m sure he could do more with the base we have.

If you're suggesting we have no idea about Campbell, that's false.
247 named him as a top recruiter when he was still at Toledo. Iowa State's roster is also littered with guys from Florida, Texas, and Georgia. He's not just picking up scraps the Big Ten West didn't get.

Where the hell do y'all get the notion Campbell doesn't enjoy recruiting? I've not read a single article about the guy that indicates this. In fact, everything I've read about him and recruiting is that he works extremely hard at it and enjoys it.
As for not recruiting 5* players...as if any 5* is ever going to Iowa State. He'd be totally wasting time and resources chasing those guys.
