Aggy logic at its finest.

Elko went 16-9 in two seasons at Duke. They broke into the AP top 25 this season after a 4-0 start before losing their starting QB to injury.
Not even close to the same.

Not a party but I’d rather have Elko than Stoops.

Duke is about to lose 17 starters after this year (covid seniors). Makes sense he wants to get out

Duke had a recent conference title game appearance under cutcliffe. Elko walked into a much better situation. You’re right. Stoops has done a much better job in a rebuild.

7-5 at Duke is not like going 7-5 at OM. Duke is the Vandy of the ACC historically

If Elko had no ties to atm I wonder how this would be viewed
Cutcliffe left a pretty solid program there so it’s hard to say. Remember after his first year everyone thought Aranda was gonna be a good head coach then all those upperclassmen left
I think Elko will do fine just as I thought stoops would do fine but to pretend the two are night and day is disingenuous

Duke had won 10 games in the three years before Elko took over. They weren’t a good program at the end of Cutcliffe’s tenure. Stoops took over a bad program as well from Joker Phillips, but I don’t think it’s fair to say that Elko walked into a better situation than Stoops.

All I’m saying is, you pay 70 million to get rid of a coach only to go out and make another mediocre hire. I just imagined A&M being able to do better than this. Otherwise just keep Jimbo another year or 2. After all, he lost his starting QB to injury 3 straight years.

I agree.
7-5 at duke is like going 7-5 at UK.
Except UK plays in a tougher conference

All this clearly shows the problem with Texas A&M is not really the coach

Making a substantial improvement from year 1.
Elko can’t say the same.

Want to compare their records over their first two years or no?
