FWIW, in his column in the Advocate today he said, paraphrasing "I'd bet he would not coach the bowl game if he's not the HC". Sounds like Coach O mite not stay on the staff, a big loss in recruiting.

Thats his call. Nothing we can do about it. All we can worry about now is hiring the best HC we can find. Id like him to stay but dont forget we were better before Orgeron came than when he was here.

Another opinion. I bet if it came down to him being a position coach or not working, he'd stick around.

People on pay sites are saying the same. Coach O will not be here if LSU gets another HC. Yet another casualty of failing to get this done last year. I hope it's part of Orgeron getting a HC job somewhere else, or that the new guy doesn't want discord in the locker room after the players bought in on Orgeron. However, if it's because O didn't believe he got a fair shot, well don't let the door hit you on the way out if you're that vindictive.

Were we're fine without O before he got here. That Ra Ra stuff really got the fan base brainwashed into thinking this thing will fall apart if he leaves

Business is business.

I'm all for giving him the talked-about 750K bonus for doing a good job as interim coach--IF he stays on staff.

If not, see ya.

Any thing that starts off with "I bet he..." needs to get whacked. And you a ban till next season.

Rabalais don't know shite. I normal don't put much stock in what mike D says but he knows on this subject because of his friendship with O. He said yesterday that O could stay on if not hired as head coach and this situation was different from USC.

If he gets a head coaching job somewhere else, you can't blame him.

The new head coach will most certainly want to keep him, and LSU would probably pay him close to a million a year to stay.

If he voluntarily leaves to take a position as a DL coach at another school, though, you have to ask - how much does he actually love LSU and Louisiana?

This, is hope its because he gets a look for someone. But O needs to face facts and accept that not top-10 job is coming calling.

If he bounces before the bowl game just because we didn't give him the HC job that's a bit ridiculous.

He didn't love lsu when he pretended he wanted the D line job before going to Tennessee.

Pride can be a horrible thing.

If I were him, I would stay on, take a bump up in pay, keep applying for other HC jobs and hopefully jump to be a head coach as a mid-major.

But I guess he feels someone did him wrong. He didn't have his team ready to play a team with half of their starters missing on defense and his team was a 14 point favorite at home.

If he went 6-1, with his only loss coming to the #1 team in the country, then I could understand, but he didn't.

If he gets butt hurt about that, then maybe he doesn't love LSU as much as he says he does.

This would really sour my feelings toward O. He was paid extra to be interim coach. He wasn't guaranteed the head job, but agreed to coach the team throughout the remainder of the season.

Now, if he leaves because he has a head job somewhere else, theni can't blame him for that.
