No way coach O leaves LSU even if he doesn't get the head job. I mean, he bleed purple and gold, he loves this university. Right, guys?

I like Coach O. If he loves LSU as much as he says he does, he'll stick around. If not, oh well... He has done a really good job with this team, but the UF loss should eliminate him. We were favored by 2 TDs against a heavily injured team and lost with a Sugar Bowl appearance on the line. It wasn't really all his fault because the players made some big mistakes, but you have to be more creative when it comes to getting in the end zone to get the W.

None of which came close to meeting their potential while here at LSU.

This. The stories that came about about Danielle Hunter are just cringe-worthy. The guy had no technique and no idea how to play the position after 3 years here. Now he is a starter in the NFL and made a game-deciding play just last Sunday.

His handling of LF and Guice in the game, or his lack of intervention as Ensminger handled it, is enough to disqualify him in my book. That was absolute amateur hour. The way Guice was benched after the fumble for a back who had no business being on the field killed our early offensive momentum, which we never really regained.

As for the special teams mistakes, he knew who he had in Peveto. He had the stones to fire Cameron. He should have gotten rid of the worst coach on the staff when he had the chance. He didn't, and it came home to roost in a loss. I can't guarantee that Peveto being gone prevents the fumbled hold, the fumbled return (2 in 2 weeks), or the poor kick coverage, but he certainly is the root cause of how poor our special teams have become.

Sounds like Coach O mite not stay on the staff, a big loss in recruiting.

It is what it is. Getting rid of the offensive ineptitude in big games is the first priority.

I would put Juluke in there too, because Grimes was a solid recruiter, just not a good coach. These guys and a great technical OL coach will solidify the offensive side for the near term.

We will still need a couple of home run hitters on the defensive side to work with Aranda, assuming O does leave.

Coach O will not be here if LSU gets another HC.

So, in other words, he was full of sh*t when claiming he loves LSU.

No offense, but he got a fair shot and failed to do what he needed to get hired. No one with a brain is hiring him for a legit P5 HC job and he already stated previously that a non-P5 job doesn't interest him (basically beneath him). He's also not getting a DC job at a legit program, so he can make a lateral move as a position coach, but clearly he must not love LSU as much as he claims if he does that.

Also, O has proven he has little loyalty historically. Hell, the main thing I worry is he pulls the same sleezy shite he pulled when leaving UT and telling a bunch of UT recruits to leave with them to SC.

I like coach O and think he's a great DL coach and recruiter, but his history both as a HC and assistant isn't of some trustworthy/honorable guy.
