Then again, it may be that he and the new head coach are thinking more about the team and the potential for chais amongst the players and coaches. Also, sitting on the sidelines while getting paid for a year might enhance his chances for a better job elsewhere next year.

He'll kick our arse on the recruiting trail. It's too bad it's not going to work out. He could lock down Louisiana like no one else outside of Saban can, but since he's "not qualified" we'll just continue handing Monroe kids to Bama every year. Watch NO and BR kids start looking elsewhere, it's all good. Hope I'm wrong and y'all are right.

you are reinventing history. this team improved a lot since Orgeron took over and you know this. you seem to be one of these people that make shite up and hope people accept it as fact by repeating it over and over.

a single loss when we're already out of contention for the Sec West and CFP is better than a win that would set the program back 3-5 years.

dude we're already losing top LA kids to saban WITH O on staff, how would that all of a sudden change with him as head coach?

No we were not. You O haters need to STFU. He will be a huge loss to recruiting and defensive line play. Look I don't want him as head coach but saying we were better off with Brick Haley and John Chavis is stupid. He was here one year and got two studs on the D-Line. If O leaves the class will drop considerably. Our sack total also went up by over 10 sacks in one season with O. Say what you want about his resume for the head job, the man can coach the d-line.

you're acting like we weren't already bringing in top recruiting classes without O.

Recruiting has not been a problem for LSU lately, coaching and qb development has been a cancer.

If he leaves for another HC job, best of luck.

If he leaves just to pursue other opportunities because he wasn't offered the HC job here, that's another story.

I want him on the staff. There's not a better combination of DL coach and recruiter in the country.

FWIW, in his column in the Advocate today he said, paraphrasing "I'd bet he would not coach the bowl game if he's not the HC". Sounds like Coach O mite not stay on the staff, a big loss in recruiting.

Look, I love O as a DL coach and a recruiter but he's only been here for 2 years and Jimbo has had higher ranked classes the last 3 years. LSU will be fine.

You have no insight. Top classes full of wide receivers, running backs, and defensive backs. Our lines have been getting their shite pushed in for since 2013 and had no depth. Greg Gilmore is a prime example and not a O recruit.

Regardless of who ends up as the head coach, you should want the best coaches you can get and going forward without O would be a loss as a position coach and recruiter. Fact.
This defensive line is a helluva lot better with O than it was during the Brick Haley regime.

You're right, we've never recruited any good linemen to LSU before O arrived two years ago

O should know that he has not earned the job. At that point he is being prideful and selfish to leave. If he doesn't want to be a Tiger anymore then to hell with him, we survived many a championship without him.

Im not saying since we booted Miles, Goofball. im saying since Orgeron came to LSU. (from not even being in football by the way)

Reading comprehension is your friend.

He's been on staff two years. He was selling Miles' program before. He pulled in Key and had others considering LSU that weren't previously. We did do great recruiting before O got here, but we loaded up on 4* WRs and DBs that looked great on recruiting websites, instead of hitting the lines, QB, and LBs. It's not worth my time arguing anymore, I have shite I have to do! I want us to get back up where we belong. I think O can do it for us, but as long as we get a good hire for the long term, I'm good. I'd like O, but if not it has to be Herman first and then Fisher. I don't feel like we get either one. Fedora and Holgorsen, for me, aren't it.

It would make more sense that he leaves than stays if he's not named head coach. You don't want a locker room divided.

He needs to get his name out there for a HC job if that's what he wants.
