Elko is well liked from his time at Texas A&M, Traylor knows the state of Texas and the high school coaches and is very well liked among them. Implied Traylor could lock down Texas recruits. Apologize in advance for misspelling any of their names.

They need to get Elko. I want to see Traylor win without Frank Harris.

Sadly, no one will lock down any state now with NIL

They already recruit well and look how that's gone for them.

They need a coach that can build a great staff.

Eh. He would certainly get his fair share, but in Texas you have to compete with Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, occasionally Ohio State, and Joey McGuire at Texas Tech is just as praised within the Texas HS football circle as Traylor is.

A prognosticator gives his or her prognosis? LOL He was a guest, who seemed to know a lot about the state of Texas and Texas A&M schools.

If it is those two they should hire Traylor, they will hire Elko.

I don’t believe either one is a wrong choice. Kiffin or Prime would be wrong. These guys are a better fit

People need to stop hiring just to tick off this talking point. It’s beyond short sighted

Going "big" is the reason they are in this situation in the first place. They paid a shite-ton of money to hire a NC winning coach away from a power conf. program with significant winning history. When it didn't work out, they had to keep him longer than they wanted AND pay a ton of money to fire him.

I doubt they want to get into the same situation again. And any "big" hire they try to make will hold ALL of the leverage in the negotiations.

Isn’t everyone just going off what Billy Liucci is saying?

To be fair, except for the money owed, they've lived in this situation for 30 years. No coach has been able to escape the mediocrity.

Elko is not close to a sure thing.

Which means it won’t be either of those 2 guys. If you’re talking about the guys from Vegas, especially on the lunch time show, then the “prognosticators” on 104.5 don’t know their heads from their asses.
