Nutt was fired from Arky

He resigned and took the Ole Miss job shortly after, which is why I'm not sure if it would count or not.

I thought it was a given he was getting fired if he didn't do that but I don't remember

Nutt to Ole Miss?

Good hire for Florida. Consider how irrelevant State has been historically. Mullen turned them into consistent winners, pulled off some upsets and played some close games despite being out-talented. He could do some damage closing the talent gap with the players at Florida.

Good news. It weakens State and makes the West easier.

UF has hired the coach with the worst record of all time against ranked teams

I know it's at Miss state, but that still means he has a worst record vs ranked teams than any other coach in Miss state, Kansas, Vandy etc etc history

I was intrigued with Frost/Kelly as 1/2 choices, but I'm fine with Mullen at UF. Hopefully get the QB play back up to par.

Mullen as the third option is great in a coaching search. Go hard on a couple of coaches that you might not get and have a plan C if you don't get either.

Not the sexy hire, but Mullen will definitely fix UFs shite QB play.

Not sure why it wouldn't be a "sexy" hire. It makes perfect sense to me. He's consistently won 8-9 games a year in Starkville. Put some 5* Florida talent around him and this could be a scary good hire.

A lot of Gator fans won't be happy though. It'll be up to Mullen to prove them wrong

Will be fun to see how they react after he gets his tail handed to him in Starkville Sept. 29.

Bad for LSU. He beat us by 30 at State. This could be a bad foreshadowing.
