That's what it's more looking like and he needs a scape goat

This. He’s sucking and firing Joe Brady gives him at least one more year.

It was a huge reach to hire Brady from the beginning.

Their offensive weapons suck without CMC. With him out teams can take away DJ Moore and then they have to depend on Darnold, PJ Walker and an old Cam Newton to make plays. It's not a recipe for success.

He might not be the best nfl coach. Or maybe it’s only his second fricking year and everyone is way overreacting.

Should’ve hired Coach E instead.

Maybe Brian Kelly knows how to build a staff as well as a program and doesn’t need to take a chance on anyone. He was hired for a reason and it wasn’t to hire people on a whim or a suggestion without vetting them thoroughly. Hell he might even decide to actually interview them as well.

By your in depth and nuanced analysis. Nick is a terrible coach, Steve Spurrier Kiffin, Meyer are bad coaches because they stunk in the NFL.

As has been said, I think Brady is the scapegoat here. You bring in absolutely terrible QBs to run an offense centered around a RB that is on the field less than 50% of the time. There’s no real threats on offense expect MAYBE Marshall and he’s a rookie.

Rhule screwed the pooch from a personnel stand point and needs someone to take the fall.

Edit: I stand corrected, Marshall has barely cracked 100 yards for the season, so yea, they have no weapons at all

I mean they have a couple good receivers.

Mccaffery being hurt hasn't helped.

Dj moore is a weapon. Robby Anderson can stretch the field.

Their defense is legit.

So he wasn't able to adjust and keep them afloat offensively because he doesn't have an all star team. Got it.

If you follow Rhule's public comments about the offense, it seems pretty clear that he fired Brady because Brady refused to play LesMilesBall.

All of Rhule's comments about the offense evince a wildly outdated understanding of the connection between rushing volume and winning. He's out there repeatedly parroting stats about "when we run the ball over X times in a game, we are [good record]" completely unironically, with zero understanding of the (very well established) fact that it's winning that leads to rushing volume, not the other way around. He said multiple times that he wanted carolina to have 35 rushing attempts per game lol.

The dude was a great program building at baylor, but imo his actual on-field coaching chops are horrendous. Very very very glad we didn't wind up hiring him.

Don't disagree with your overall sentiment that Rhule is a bad coach and he's using Brady as a scapegoat, but clearly you haven't watched any of the Panthers this year lol. Marshall can't even get on the field, and DJ Moore is a legit baller.

Absolutely. Brady may well have not been “ready” or whatever people on here are arguing, but there had to be a scapegoat in Carolina, and it was Brady.

Just like people were trying to will their opinions into fact about Aranda all season, he is a great coach and his results tell that story. They can keep saying Brady isn’t ready to be an OC, but he will nevertheless be one next season.

I am a little surprised that he did not show more interest in OU. He would have been a good fit there.

When they're thinking about firing you, they first tell you to get rid of your assistants, it's either them or all of you.
