lol I highly doubt you hat Arkansas is nothing more than a feeder college for coaches

Asked you to prove me wrong in which you didn’t because you can’t.

My point is literally any school offers a coach 15 million a year the chances are high they take the job no matter what school they’re at or going. Money talks bullshite walks.

In this thread lsu fans deflect the argument I’m making and instead focus on the Arkansas program for a strange reason.

I will say this I am not sure why everyone under values experience. 60 years old is like Saban in 2011 and in the past decade how many rings has he won? Dude has a great track record without LSU talent, let’s see what he can do with it.

Yep.

I’ve said a couple of times that his personality is grating to me. Just like Saban.

He’s an insanely driven professional that gets annoyed with media and doesn’t play games when he’d rather be back in his office working to improve his team.

He’s Saban without the skins on the wall, yet (at least at this level).

Can’t wait to see what he does in Baton Rouge.

I’m not discounting his age. I think Kelly is exactly what the lsu program needs. Real commentent leadership and no more rah rah bullshite. Kelly will bring knowledge of how to build a real solid program and discipline.

My only problem is the guy has been at notre dame. My family are all huge Irish fans. My wife went to ND. We watch every single game. Those die hards fans are every bit as college football crazy as any SEC school. Gameday in South Bend on campus is one of the best football experiences/atmospheres one can have. He was given the easiest road to win a title and he hasn’t been able to do that at literally a top 2 program. It’s notre dame and Bama at the top when someone thinks of “blue blood”. He’s had all the resources in the world and still couldn’t get it done. What makes you guys think at the tail end of his career he’s will be able to do it in an actual bloodbath of a conference where he has absolutely zero ties?

This is my favorite argument from all the anti Kelly people, who I assume were pro Napier.

Coach O has a title, why aren’t teams lining up to hire him?

Turns out, beating Alabama is pretty tough. Especially with academic restrictions on recruiting.

And Notre Dame isn’t a top 2 program. They were pretty mediocre after Lou Holtz left and before he got there. Knute Rockne ain’t walking through that door

Exactly what you said.

The fact that he left a program that he could have coasted to 10 wins a year for the last decade of his career to jump into Saban’s SEC slaughterhouse shows how committed he is to winning it all.

He’s crazy, and it’s exactly the focus and drive that this program needs right now

You look like a buffoon for pretending that Riley, who left OU because he's too chicken ish to coach in the sec and was never going to stay at OU after the conference change announcement, strung LSU along in order to, what, troll? It's not lane kiffin there.

You’re paying a 60 year old coach at the end of his career 15 million a year with golden parachutes to coach you and he’s never won a title

Ever heard of Nick Saban, Les Miles, or Ed Orgeron?

The biggest revelation in this thread is that at least 2 different folks believe this. Are you people nuts? The ND job is far from the easiest path to win a title. Imagine LSU, Bama, OSU, Clemson trying to compete for titles(realistically) yearly with the academic inequalities ND faces comparatively. And no natural recruiting base. It's the most overrated job east of USC. Hence why a title contending coach jumps ship during a title contending season.

15 mil is an overpay and a crazy number. Love the kelly hire but he isn't worth 15 mil.

You and many others better brace yourself for the salaries for elite coaches…they are now paying $9-10 million for coaches with far less of a track record.

All this right here. He wants to win a championship and he left one of the most prestigious jobs in college football, in a year they might make the playoffs, to come to the SEC West, at 60. He's either going for the money, or he really wants to win a championship. Based on what we've seen of his personality, I'd put my money on the latter.

And there it is, the reason I was looking for to explain why a fricking Arkansas fan is melting over our hire.

Do we know for sure the contract because the article I just saw was 10 years 100 million

Sorry to say but elite is not an aspirational item. It is a post success condition. Elite is: fickle and cyclical at the same time. Your only as elite as your record. Soooo, we should not care about elite. Improve, win more games, contend for championships, and let the labels fall where they may.

All you need to know is you’ve got opposing fans on here scared shitless and bitching bc we paid big money

That tells you everything you really need to know about this hire

Why do people keep regurgitating this garbage?

Their schedule this year was harder than half the teams in the sec.

Recruiting to notre dame is NOT easy with school admission standards there.

Also, he took over a dumpster fire of a program left by weiss and willingham and turned it around.

So what makes it so easy to win at nd?
