OU is a good job, great history but you’ve taken them as far as you can. Once they join the SEC they take a big step back. You can’t win the SEC with Oklahoma recruits. LSU is the better situation for you.

Based on these rankings, even if OU wins out, I don't think they would be getting in.

Woodward is going to have his chance.

da fuq?

I don't see the connection here between a top-10 ranking and the desire to leave that job. This is the second post I've seen like this.

Only a self-destructive coach would think like this.

We are mid-stream in getting rid of one of those.

Their recruiting will get dramatically better once they join the SEC.

Doubt that, they’re geographically isolated

Is Oklahoma high school football going to magically have more than 1 or 2 top 300 players a year?

The people who think Lincoln Riley will leave the confines of OU for LSU, sadly are very delusional people.

Are we pretending OU became one of the elite programs in the sport by only recruiting in-state talent?

So they’ve got a pipeline to Los Alamitos, CA. If that school shits out three 5 stars every cycle then okay.

Are we pretending they’re going to have a conference slate featuring Kansas, Iowa State, and Colorado? I guess they will get Missou again in their pod.

Absolutely not. They've recruited nationally and in Texas very well.

But them joining the SEC isn't going to change the fact that they have to go national and into Texas to get most of their elite players.

Also, recruiting in Texas is getting much harder with Jimbo killing it at A&M and Texas also joining the SEC.

I know we are prepared to pay a lot for the next coach, but do you realize that Lincoln Riley’s current contract has a $25 mil BUYOUT Clause?

They didn't even play those teams every year when they shared a division with Texas, A&M, and Oklahoma State. They seemed to do fine.

Why? OU is the better program of the three, and have recruited against those schools for decades.
