Let me just say this. pray that either Riley brings a great DC to LSU or that Aranda ends up being LSU’s next head coach.

This this this. You have to play defense in the SEC. Riley is going to find that out the hard way at one place or another.

Did you just not watch last year? We got shredded with a defense full of 4/5*s.

What if LSU hires Riley and OU replaces him with Aranda, and we have to play him every year. Talk about poetic justice.

My God. Neither was Riley, Dabo, Day or Smart when they got their current jobs.

I mean, we definitely lose a few games in 2019 without the best offense ever. That’s kinda indisputable.

That’s on player availability and not coaching. Go back and look at the suspensions, injuries, etc. when he got his full compliment of players from Aggie on, go look at what they did.

Exactly, Aranda had his star safety hurt after the Aub game. We were painfully reminded this year and last how important a great safety is to a defense.

I don't see how Aranda going to USC would affect LSU at all.

LSU wouldn’t need a great DC with Riley, just a good one. We’ve seen the last couple weeks what Daronte could do with backups. LSU job has made a lot of DCs look good.

Aranda is the reason LSU beat Aub and went undefeated. So shut the frick up!

And the offense is the reason they won the other 14 games that year. Why don't you shut up?

Aranda lost to TCU 9 days ago. He’s my second choice after Riley but pump the brakes.

Aranda has defeated (2 of 3) and embarrassed Riley 3 straight games. In the lone defeat, Aranda's defense held OU to 269 total yards. Last 2 times playing with a Baylor roster avg recruiting ranking of 38th to OU's avg of 9th from 2018-21.

I don’t understand how people lack vision and can’t see the coach Aranda will be in 5 years. He will be hoisting trophies.

I don't disagree, but why can't people see this about Riley as well? He's also 7 years younger. He theoretically hasn't even hit his coaching prime yet, and he's been to three playoffs.

What Aranda has achieved at Baylor and at LSU has the appearances of restoring or maintaining order amidst chaos. Riley was handed the keys to an accomplished program and has continued that success. I would be thrilled with both.

Aranda is just so darn perfect as a guy to lead your program. Humble,brilliant,motivated,classy...I wish he had 2-3 more years as a HC under his belt. Even so...I would view him as a great hire and on par with Riley. I just don't see that he has any downside.

LSU's defense with 4 and 5 stars didn't look good last year nor for most of the season this year.

That’s a big “if” he’s still available? A big gamble LSU is taking.

I think it’s a big gamble either way.
I’m a BIG Aranda fan. Been lobbying for him hard for awhile, even over some of the so called established coaches. And generally I like elite defensive minded head coaches. I also think he will be an elite coach.
However, I still get the argument that it’s a gamble given his short head coaching experience. Not as much a gamble as some, but I can see why others might think that.
