1) Took over an 11-3 program, where the coach was poached, not fired, and went 2-7 in Y1, by a combined score of 131-218.

1) The Baylor roster was depleted after 2019. Just like LSU's roster. A lot of players left for the draft or were seniors.

2) Aranda was named coach on Jan 16, 2020. Publicly announced on Jan 20, 2020. When was signing day for 2020 recruits?

3) Rhule left a 50th ranked recruiting class on his way out of the door. His previous classes: 40, 29, 35, 50.

The fact that the top 3 are Jimbo, O’Brien, and Mark Stoops essentially means that any respectable hire is turning down that much money to avoid being in Baton Rouge.

You can read the threads today and see why swamp trash like O is a better fit. Candidates know what comes with this job.

I’d say he’s starting a true freshman, but apparently on this board, QBs are supposed to come straight out of high school and win national championships immediately as soon as they step on the field after starting 4 games.

Isn't roster management part of the HC job? Is Rattler a Freshman? Why isn't Rattler prepared to outperform the freshman?

Riley is a fraud handed a top program that he take further. OU roster ranked at least 25+ spots higher than ISU. Essentially, 4&5* vs 3*

Nobody hates him. People are just tired of people being considered and receiving jobs that they don’t deserve strictly because of the color of their skin.

Yep. That's why LSU Football has been forced to only hire white HCs since 1893. First black football player in 1971. No skin involved. Glad they don't see color.

quote:

Black people have an advantage in this country because of how they look. #EndRacism #WhiteLivesMatterToo

Totally agree. Lynchings, slavery, Tulsa massacre, segregation, poll taxes, separate entrances, water fountains, bus seating, etc is all make belief. Whites have it the hardest and are the true victims. They've bent over backwards being kind, fair and generous to the blacks.

It’s not personal towards Tucker. He just happened to be having a good year when people here convinced themselves Tate was going to force a minority hire.

Replace Tucker with David Shaw or Dino Babers and it’d be the same reaction.

Mel, will not ... replace O!
Mel, will not ... replace O!

Anyone that lives in Houston knows BoB is the most hated man in H-town sports.

He'd be very easy to negative recruit against. Especially, to the elite recruits.

Did you go look at Rhule's recruiting rankings at Baylor? wasn't like he set the world on fire.

2017- 40th
2018- 29th
2019- 35th

So not much different than what Dave is doing now. This is not to say Dave is an awesome recruiter, but to say he was given all this talent is not accurate.

The 50th ranked 2020 class also belongs to Rhule.

Aranda was named HC on Jan 16 and publicly announced on Jan 20, 2020.

Dave's LSU recruits:
Marcel Brooks, Kristian Fulton, Kelvin Joseph, Tyler Shelvin, Phillip Webb, Jacob Phillips, Ed Alexander, BJ Olujari, more of Dave's recruits

The NFL likes his recruiting AND development.
quote:

With Matt Rhule’s recruits.
Starts “15” seniors.
His first recruiting class was ranked #50
This years class is #38
He was LSU’s worse recruiter.
Woodward will not hire him.

Pardon the language, but it's most appropriate for your post: Bitch Please! 50th was Rhule's class.

Rhule's Baylor Recruiting Classes: 40, 29, 35, 50

Rhule got the hell out at the right time. Most of the 2019 contributors did not return. Aranda arrived late to Baylor to a depleted roster, covid and a horrible recruiting class. Fatass didn't even try to recruit the 2020 class.

But with the coaching data we have, you cannot stand in front of me with a straight face and say definitively that Dave would be a better HC

Dave's building a program that was depleted when he arrived. Riley was gifted a program running high on autopilot and hasn't matched or exceeded the heights of his predecessor. Only sustained it.

You’re only right if you say Napier.

Aranda lost to TCU 9 days ago. He’s my second choice after Riley but pump the brakes.

Aranda has defeated (2 of 3) and embarrassed Riley 3 straight games. In the lone defeat, Aranda's defense held OU to 269 total yards. Last 2 times playing with a Baylor roster avg recruiting ranking of 38th to OU's avg of 9th from 2018-21.

Dave doesn’t wilt under pressure because he’s a tactician always scheming and adjusting, including dealing with the press.

Lastly, Dave can be hired for a lot less money and he’s proven himself a superior tactician to Riley head to head.

Aranda owns Riley regardless of the roster talent disparity. Riley came off as a spoiled brat whining about a FG when he never lets off the gas offensively. Bitch move and his teams reflect their HC. CFP doesn't trust his teams and it shows in the rankings. That will follow him to his next job.

It’s insane to pay 10 m or more for Riley

Thank you. Lol. Hasn't built anything. Only maintained what Bob Stoops handed him.

If SW lands Riley, is that the biggest “steal” in CFB history?

No. Not even close. Dude is decorated with Big XII skins. It does make LSU look as desperate as A&M, though.

Nobody has ever been loved more for doing less than Daronte

Sounds like Lincoln Riley. Gifted a winning program from Bob Stoops that hasn't gone any further under his watch. Cried about a FG after his guys had scored 2 minutes earlier. Aranda owns him 3 straight games and with a much less talented roster the last 2 games. Talk about overrated.
Aranda made him cry. Saban and Lane will have fun with him and his feelings.

is there enough sample size for dave aranda? by bdavids09

It worked out for Baylor with no sample size. You can gather more sample size while he's at USC killing it and never consider returning to LSU.

You misspelled new “burrow, Jefferson, chase, CEH, Marshall, moss”

Amen.
quote:

Obviously not.

So one of the only reasons he’s mentioned is because he’s coached 4 seasons at a Sunbelt school in La. It’s truly bizarre.

He may end up being a great P5 coach but people on here have him as their #1 above guys like Riley, or Rhule, or Campbell, or even someone like Aranda.

I am totally perplexed by this.

Because they want to become the Texas Longhorns. Anyone openly self-promoting for the job like Orgeron did, should not be allowed anywhere near Baton Rouge.
quote:

I really don’t think most of you understand how below average Dave is at recruiting.

When you can't beat'em, lie about them continuously.

There's nothing weak about: Marcel Brooks, Kristian Fulton, Kelvin Joseph, Tyler Shelvin, Phillip Webb, Jacob Phillips, Ed Alexander, BJ Olujari, more DA recruits.

I know you and your hit squad like to highlight recruiting, but along with intellect, coaching abilities and integrity, Dave also develops players. See the 3* Wisconsin recruits into NFL Draftees.

The NFL loves Dave's "below average" recruits.

O is only a recruiter. A $9M/yr Recruiter. Congratulations on the results. Smart fans want a CEO to run the program. Not a recruiter.

ETA: Most top recruiters are position coaches like O. Not HC and Coordinators. Top Recruiters

Stupid, outdated topic to stir up your crew. Tate and Tucker scare the shite of some of you. Wonder why.
