Not really. There are things we put in the contracts that even it out. Kiffin is likely going to make over $10 million this year and his base is $7.5

True, but Auburn is able and willing to pay more for NIL, Facilities, support staff and assistants. Kiffin was pissed y’all didn’t pony up for Durkin.

Auburn has the right mix of money and desperation to guarantee a $100 million dollar contract.
Please let this happen

They'll have to hire a high school coach after they fire this next guy after two years.

There's a college football talk show out of Atlanta, the Chuck Oliver show.

He didn't go that far with it like McElroy did here but he said that Auburn will have its coach by Thanksgiving

He's not the kind of guy that is in the hot take industry

Freeze

lol

Freeze is not demanding a 9 figure contract, he would take what he could get to be at a place like Auburn.

MAYBE Kiffin could ask for that much to move.

Rhule makes sense since he's still getting paid by Carolina.

Or a totally out of left field candidate like James Franklin which everyone goes wtf or laughs.

IF he were to leave, this would be the reason… not his salary, but the ability to spend whatever it takes to win at the highest level.

I don’t think he’ll leave Oxford for auburn… but some one else will pull him from there who has the resources.

Who on earth would command that if true? Def not Deion. Wouldn't think Lanning could demand that much.

Kiffin? Freeze? Wildcard?

Outside of a soon to be fired coach, no coach is going to agree to a new contract with a new team before the regular season is over. If it's about a memorandum of understanding, well I'd ask Arkansas about how those go.

Auaburn could have a good ole boy agreement by Thanksgiving and announce new Coach when regular season ends

ETA we had hired Bobby Petrino to replace Tubbs until we got caught, we invented clandestine meeetings at the Holiday Inn.

Tend to agree. Can't imagine Kiffin leaving primarily for a salary bump when he's already making, what, $7.25m?

I think at this point in his career it'll have to be an overwhelming opportunity across the board, not just cash alone.

poor AU fans...firing the coach in season then waiting weeks and sucking up any nugget of info regarding a coaching search that can't advance until the season concludes regardless is exhausting

Guessing here, but I think the Panthers would sue Auburn or Rhule if that were the case.

It would have to be Rhule. Auburn isn't a party to any contract with the Panthers. But point taken and it is effectively the same thing because Rhule isn't going to sign a contract with Auburn that get's him in hot water with his Panthers contract.
