After your nap consider how irrational you are being. You really think the only two quality DB coaches are Jimmy Lake and Corey Raymond? Brian Kelly has a plan, take a deep breath.

C’mon man. Really. Lighten up. I can’t believe how many people like you are ready to jump off a bridge over the loss of a position coach!

I couldn’t believe how many people were trying to downplay Raymond’s accomplishments yesterday when he made a LATERAL move to Florida.

Saying everything will be fine when the only hire we made that day was Kerry fricking Cooks as a defensive analyst

No matter how much you are in the bargaining phase of the grief process, that was objectively a huge loss to an SEC rival program.

Sounds like you are in the anger phase at the moment.

Take a deep breath, drink a beer, and relax. The adults who actually know how to build a staff and run a CFB program are at the helm.

It's not at all uncommon to completely clean house. It's more of this "one of us" rationale thinking we have to keep holdovers from the previous staff all the time.

Through his prior staff hires BK has earned the benefit of the doubt to land a good replacement.

I don't think it *has* to be anyone the fans say it needs to be, just someone he believes will get the job done.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Here is, I'm sure, one of hundreds of threads depicting the abject panic of losing Ron Cooper in 2012.

LINK

Now, the same panic has ensued regarding the loss of the guy that replaced him.

LSU has had good DB's for the last 20 years (really longer than that). During that time there were multiple DB coaches here. Perhaps, LSU has had good DBs because there are many good DBs in Louisiana and LSU also happens to be in Louisiana.

You don't like to lose a good coach. But until Raymond and Napier start consistently pulling big time DBs from Louisiana I would hold off on the panic. Plus, focusing on DBs from Louisiana might be a bit misguided considering Florida has more great DBs (in gross numbers) than LA and its much smaller population.

There are plenty of DB coaches out there. With Wilson aboard, one that can recruit is not as important. Just find a good x and o guy with a pretty good track record.

They should go hire Rod Chance while the Oregon staff is in limbo.

Would be a pretty good hire, but there are several out there and with Wilson on board, one that recruits well is not a major priority now. I like Terry Joseph as well.
