Either it’s Jimmy Lake as DC, or this will be a colossal failure letting Raymond walk

I couldn’t believe how many people were trying to downplay Raymond’s accomplishments yesterday when he made a LATERAL move to Florida.

Saying everything will be fine when the only hire we made that day was Kerry fricking Cooks as a defensive analyst

No matter how much you are in the bargaining phase of the grief process, that was objectively a huge loss to an SEC rival program.

LSU has to land a big whale. I’m hoping this paved the way to get Jimmy Lake at DC. That would be the biggest name you can get. It would be a home run hire, and he has phenomenal recruiting ability particularly with corners and safeties. It would honestly be an upgrade at DBs coach.

No point melting over something you can’t control.

I love how you think you know more than Brian Kelly on how to run football programs.

They made him assistant head coach...you can still call it lateral if you want but I'm sure he at least got a nice raise.

that's probably because there were a bunch of people like yourself acting like he was some irreplaceable coach who's loss we can not possibly overcome. That despite the fact we lost La kids to out of state schools while he was here, at Florida he will now come and take whoever he wants

was yesterday some deadline, after which no other hires can be made? No, then there's no reason to panic.

Raymond was a good coach and recruiter, nothing more, he is 100% replaceable.

People weren’t high on Les because he wasn’t a splash hire and kinda awkward

People weren’t high on O because, well, he’s O.

Aranda was my top choice but it’s like the only people truly against Kelly from the outset are Napetards. It’s hilarious

He was the RC, with the hire of Wilson he lost that role and wasn’t promoted to AHC

It hurts, but let’s calm down on the hyperbole that it’s some colossal failure to not retain him.

When Aranda had complete autonomy to make his defensive hires, he brought in Busch to take duties off of Raymond.

It’s going to be just fine.

So, you readily admit we can upgrade... Good, now calm down.

If we get Golding or Elko or the DC from Houston it will be fine. Lake is nice but not necessary.

Nobody liked losing Raymond, but imagine not having confidence in a guy that built two teams from scratch and those teams are currently the number 4& 5 teams in the nation. Simmer down.

So, apparently your comprehensive nationwide ranking of DB coaches is as follows:

1. (tie) Corey Raymond and Jimmy Lake

[Yuge gulf]

[Keep going]

[Not there yet]

[Very definition of bad]

[Bona fide arse]

[Wooo that smell; can't ya smell that smell?]

9999. Errbody else, except...

99999. That Cooks guy from Oklahoma

A jimmy Lake/Brian Kelly combo would be like the return of the junction boys the way they run their programs. Talk about a culture change
