I get that he had 12 starters out yesterday, but it’s not looking good for Jimbo

$86 million worth though? That's insane money.

If he was getting fired this year, he would have been fired already.

He’s not getting fired with that kind of money.

It's insane for most people.

Only takes a few really wealthy, really pissed off dedicated boosters to say enough is enough.

86 million. There are very few boosters that are kicking that kind of money. Rich boosters are rich for a reason; you don't stay rich giving away that kind of money with no potential return.

For the kind of money they owe him they will allow him to reset with coordinators. Plus he’s recruiting we’ll so giving him a chance to do that isnt really setting the program back too bad.

I think they'll give him a couple more years.

They are stuck with him. His buyout is too high for them to fire him no matter how badly he flames out.

The only caveat would be if Jimbo wants out… a negotiated buyout could be on the table.

I bet he gets fired and they negotiate a lower buyout.

Well that’s curious, bc your fellow A&M posters on this site have alleged for a decade now that your school has more money than God.

Seems like $86M is a drop in the bucket for a school with means like that, no?

He isn’t getting canned this year. He’ll get a chance to rectify.

The only way I see Jimbo leaving soon is if there is some kind of negotiated buyout, but Coach Fisher holds the cards.

We have the money no doubt.

The issue is the egos that will be bruised in order to fire him. Those people are going to circle the sunk cost fallacy drain for a while b/c people that rich never like to admit they fricked up.

I think it will take finishing 4-8 w/Jimbo flat out refusing to give up the offense and playcalling to really get the ball rolling on removing him.
