I just can't make sense of this. So right now LSU is just kind of hoping to get Kiffin? Are they crossing their fingers and hoping he doesn't get a job as a head coach? What if they keep waiting for Kiffin and then he decides to be the HC at USF or Houston? That's a lot of wasted time in terms of recruiting. Doesn't seem like a great plan.
People were saying that Kiffin to LSU was a lock. If that's the case then why is Kiffin interviewing for HC jobs? LSU has put all of their eggs into the Lane Kiffin basket. I can't think of a more unreliable basket.

If any AD, to hire his hc, looked at a binder, saw his entire future relied on lane kiffin, and said i am sold. Then, he should be fired immediately. Don't care if it all works out. That's shitty fricking due diligence.

This. They are just looking to take their frustration out on someone, anyone with how the coaching search went down. The majority of them weren't even members of the site when Random posted inside info that turned out to be true.

Honestly, I'd rather Helfrich or Briles over Kiffin. But if O doesn't get Kiffin, his top target, then that negates the very reason we hired him.
I don't want O to "luck," like Miles, into a better hire. This speaks to his ability to follow through with promises and targets, and his ability to identify the right thing to do and the right person who fits his plan. Which are all huge question marks given the last time he ran a program and made hires.
He should have to prove he can do these things to prove that he has learned from his Ole Miss experience and can elevate this program moving forward.

This wouldn't be the first time we didn't fill a oc/dc role until after the bowl and new year. the recruiting will be ok. We can wait on Kiffin and if he goes to a hc role then we just move down the list.

Briles and Kiffin are a waste of time. They are both actively searching for HC jobs. LSU is an afterthought. And they will do the same next year. Which would completely undermine recruiting. Because when they do leave, they get a jump on our top recruits, until the next OC is hired

in our situation, you can't go with a short term guy like Kiffin.
Whether Briles wants to admit it or not, he's a few years out from getting a good job again. I'd be fine with that hire.

I disagree. You have one year left with Etiling and Guice, and probably Chark and Dupre. I'd take one year of Kiffin calling plays with that group.
