Great RB’s don’t necessarily make great coaches. And that can be said for any position, really. Kevin Faulk was hired by LSU several years back and really didn’t do much with their RB room.

I'm not a Deion/Colorado fan. But the hate for him is really odd. He took a ONE win team, one of the worst in all of CFB, and two years later won 9 games and finished the season ranked. "I'm going to hate on him because he doesn't know how to win games but I'm also going to ignore the fact that he won games and turned the program around." Pretty sure any fan of Colorado football is ok with what he's done.

I did get annoyed with him his first year at Colorado when he was still talking shite even after it was obvious that they were not that good.
I don't want to see him fail at all but I did stop going out of my way to watch him that year. I'm glad that he was able to turn them around because I think Prime being a college coach is good for the sport and I feel like he genuinely wants the players to be successful in life weather it be in football or another path.
I also wish he would have told his son to kinda be quiet on his podcast. Blaming your offensive line for the amount of sacks he took (even though yes the Oline wasn't good) was a bitch move and you know he only said that because his dad was the coach. I don't think he will be able to get away with that in the NFL.

He is the Ron Meyer of Colorado football. At some point the long term damage he is doing to Colorado will be realized. He builds a roster from transfer portal malcontents and me-first primadonnas. They have more talent that most teams they play but can't beat the ones moderately well coached like Nebraska. When he finally moves on, CU will have no infrastructure in place to survive the fallout and it will take the next coach a good 5 years to build a program from the ashes.

It’s really not odd. He brought most of the hate he gets on himself with that ridiculous post game press conference after his very first game at Colorado, where he acted an arse and for some reason made it a point to make it out to be some big racial thing with him.
Going into that season the only hate you heard about Deion were from hard core HBCU coaches and fans who felt he abandoned them.
The average college football fan was genuinely interested in seeing how “Coach Prime” would fare on a bigger stage and you didn’t really hear any hate towards him until Deion himself decided to stir up shite after his very first win.

This is a good hire, the thing is are these guys staying for more than one year. P. Manning talks about what a huge help Faulk was to him when he was first getting into the league. He was the main component to the Greatest Show on Turf. Not just b/c he was talented, but b.c his football IQ is off the charts.
I think he'll be able to channel that into younger players.
