You're not alone. A lot on this board would want Napier over Petersen. Which is how we know most people on this board are dumbasses.

You gotta want to grind and put in the extra hours to win in the SEC

Yeah, I would have real concerns with someone making the transition from retirement back to the grind that it takes to run a successful LSU football program.

If he was the guy, I can't see why he wouldn't be named already. I know you said he is only listening, but if there is mutual interest and they've been talking for a year, someone needs to shite or get off the pot.

From a timing standpoint, he'd be perfect as we could get him in now.

Chris Petersen would get run over in recruiting in the SEC. Y’all don’t want that.

Chris Petersen

What type of fit culturally will he be at LSU? He's only lived and coached out West all of his life (outside of one season at Pitt in 1992).

Mississippi State hired Joe Moorhead who had only coached in the northeast and midwest and he was as awkward of a fit as we every could have made and he was let go after 2 years

If he’s happy in retirement, he should stay retired. He’s a really good coach, but I don’t want someone who doesn’t have the fire to do this 100 percent.

Maybe, maybe not. He had 5 straight top 30 classes at UW including 3 top 20 classes recruiting against the California schools and Oregon.

He's actually a pretty solid recruiter. He's also ELITE at identifying recruits that fit his system and developing them once they get to campus.

He would win a lot of games at LSU. I worry about his drive to be here long term though, that gives me a lot of pause.
