Within one year, Petrino improved the total offense that was previously ranked at 101 in the nation last year to 53 in the nation this year.

53rd nationally with that talent is nothing special. He can be average. When is the last time he had a top 25 offense?

Yea the question would be how much was limited by Jimbo and then having to play max johnson and a 3rd stringer

The problem is Arkansas doesn't have the roster to maximize the offense in one season. It might take a while to get the offense going. It took Mizzou a while to get the new OC, offensive coaches, and players to gel and get the offense ready in the SEC.

Petrino said Jimbo put limits on his offense.

I think that says more about Jimbo and how completely out of touch he was than ole Bobby P. It’s not like their offense was devoid of talent.

As for his previous stops, Loserville fell off a cliff and his FCS offenses weren’t lighting the world on fire, either. It’s been a while since Petrino had a dominant offense.

In his first season at Missouri State, he led them to the FCS playoffs for the first time since 1990.

Yes his offense fell off the map in 2018 but in both 2016 and 2017 seasons, the offense finished in the top five both times.

He lost 14 games playing in the ACC with Lamar Jackson at QB, then went 2-8 the following year without him.

He is going to need to find a QB

He needs an OL first then a QB.

Arkansas just got a commitment from the top OL of the 2022 JUCO class last week.

And now the top JUCO TE.

A weak schedule does wonders.
