When the only thing you have left to lose if your job, you don't bring in a guy that used to do it better than you.
I know the i,terim question is never really enough to stop a firing. but with Petrino on staff he's potentially on the chopping block week 1.

No this is the swan song for both of them. Win or lose there will be a new HC and staff in 2025. This is a money grab for the AD to fund the future.
