If true and he takes the job he'll be head coach there again because Pittman won't last the entire season.

anyone know the legal hurdles they would face doing this? isn't he barred from working for the university after his previous hiring practices?

Petrine is a fossil.

They should get a young offensive mind. Like Chad Morris was

By all accounts if he wasn’t an absolute jackass in the interview with Skip…he was replacing Saban here.

"The UA System has a policy that stipulates those who have “been dismissed for cause…shall not be eligible for re-employment” within the system. The policy was originally passed on May 23, 2013, with a revised version being adopted on Nov. 22, 2019.

Despite the policy being adopted about a year after Petrino’s firing, Best of Arkansas Sports confirmed with the UA’s Office of General Counsel that it’d still apply to him — contrary to what some fans have posted on social media.

However, the policy does leave open the possibility of an exception, but it would require the approval of the UA System President, Dr. Donald R. Bobbitt."

Yep. It would be the equivalent of Pittman BEGGING to stay. No HC, secure in their ability and job would hire the former, and significantly more successful HC to return to his former school in a subordinate role. Frankly, it would be just a step below Pittman promising that if Petrino has success Pittman will demote himself to OL coach because I doubt Petrino would be content to remain as OC when he knows he is the reason for Arkansas's success.

If Pittman is actually considering this hire he may as well just resign now and go get paid to be someone's OL coach/recruiting coordinator because he'd be cucking himself to put Petrino on staff in a year Pittman knows he's going to be fired if he doesn't produce.

This is a back door way to bring Petrino back as head coach.

i assume if it's this far down the road, the president has agreed. maybe tying up lose ends at this point, because they have a pretty thick hr file on bobby.

also, is it a coincidence this news leaked the first day of the new arkansas nil collective/email solicitations going out?
