I'm pretty sure freeman got a new deal last year.
Edit: he just signed a new deal going into the playoffs.
Freeman agreed on Sunday to a three-year contract extension that runs through the 2030 season. FootballScoop and Irish Illustrated writer John Brice reported Freeman will earn more than $9 million annually, up from $7 million in the deal he signed when hired three years ago. Freeman will also have access to more money to compensate his assistant coaches and other staff members.

I am curious to see if he would accept. How much time in the last 3 years has he spent building out the blueprint for his NFL team? Not like he’d struggle doing so, but that’s how you get teams comfortable with topics like depth of coaching network to round out the offensive staff
His lifetime NFL experience is also 1 season (2009) as a player (who never played a game) spread across 3 bad teams. Is he ready to speak to how plugged in he is to the game in 2025 or the people that have been/will be guiding him along the way?
I think he’ll pass. But not a bad idea by the Bears to get a measure of him for their opening in 2028

This is true, it’s just going to depend on what he wants to do. He is a midwestern guy that seems to want to stay in the area so if he has any intentions of being a NFL coach this is just about the perfect spot for him.

If it is his goal to coach in the NFL, then Chicago would be a decent place to be. Young QB and young WRs. Good defensive players. He could get the right staff and turn it around.
Look at what Payton did to New Orleans in 2006. That was the ultimate dumpster fire. City still in rebuild mode from Katrina. New GM and a QB that many thought would not be able to throw the ball. Worked out well for him and the organization.

Caleb went through 3 OC’s this year. His HC got fired. The offensive line led the NFL in line combos.
To put in perspective how bad it was, Shane Waldron did not coach Caleb on any planned step drop backs by play design. He basically allowed Caleb to wing it on every drop back. He also did not script plays for the offense until vets started freaking out.
It was an absolute coaching malpractice disaster.

Yea ND didn`t want to pay BK 10 mil but now are paying MF 8mil.
NFL gigs are paying SP17 mil,Vrable 17mil, any coach any team wants
will demand 10 mil or more for at least 4 years,thats why you take that job.
