I thought I remember that the two were some how connected. I see Herman is currently an analyst in the NFL but a Aranda/Herman combo would be a pretty sweet deal I would think.

We would need to hire someone who can recruit if that is our combo

He recruited pretty damn well at UH and UT

He’s a fricking weirdo

But getting him (or Sark…please pull the plug early UT) would be big time

That’s not a winning combo.

Our winning combo is Aranda/Brady and
it’s a scorched earth and curbstomp everybody including the gumps on a regular basis kind of combo.

And it’s incredible how many people that literally just witnessed a sample in 2019 of what Aranda with Brady can do with top shelf athletes and QB’s like Joe Burrow, like potentially any of the 5 star qbs currently coming or are on the radar to come here- downvote the piss out of the idea of a second dose of Aranda Brady.
Greatest college football team of all time? Nah nah we don’t want that. Brady sucked in the NFL!! It was completely Burrow!

damn guys, I mean hell if that’s not the winning combo nothing is. People want Tom fing Herman instead. LMAO

What is the basis for Aranda “not wanting to recruit”? Is he a Ed O level recruiter? No but I definitely recall him closing the deal with big time defensive recruits when he was here.

Also he can assemble a staff of “recruiters” to do a lot of the heavy lifting. As we have seen, hiring a HC who’s #1 skill is recruiting hasn’t been that great in the past (Les and Ed).

It’s become a TD talking point that everyone just parrots. Kind of similar to O being an elite recruiter.

And a bad drunk.... Which is why he's not at Texas anymore. He and Michelle liked to get loaded and fight about him banging girls on the side (which he did).

Aranda just needs to show the recruits all of the guys he coached up playing in the league now. There are many.

This narrative needs to die. Aranda can recruit. He was responsible for pulling Ika out of Utah, Jacob Phillips away from OU, BJ, and etc.

Just because he doesn’t rip off his shirt or eat grass doesn’t mean he can’t recruit.

Urban wasn't too concerned with Herman's recruiting until he lost him.

old article

quote:

But Herman's value to Meyer's staff extended beyond his work with the OSU quarterbacks, as he's also proven to be one of the Buckeyes' most decorated recruiters. In the matter of just two recruiting cycles, Herman used his Texas ties to singlehandedly build a pipeline to the Lone Star State, helping OSU land Barrett, 4-star linebacker Mike Mitchell, 4-star running back Dontre Wilson and 4-star offensive guard Demetrius Knox from 2013-2014.

In the 11 years prior to Herman's arrival, the Buckeyes had netted a total of four scholarship players from the talent-rich state.

"Tom Herman did an excellent job down in Texas, an area that traditionally has not been strong for Ohio State," Meyer said on national signing day in 2013. "I knew very well Tom had a background in Texas and I knew he's a good recruiter because I did the homework before we hired him. Very good recruiter."

You don’t understand. Napier has a plan for recruiting because he’s the next saban. No other coaches besides Napier and Saban have plans for recruiting.

I'm guessing you didn't watch much of Herman's teams. He would get our QB's killed in the SEC.

Herman offense runs the QB too much. Walker Howard is not coming here to run the ball 15-20 times a game. Why do you think Ehlinger was always beat up at Texas?

46 career games at Texas 554 rushing attempts and 90-95% of theses were designed runs. 5 games with 20+ carries, 19 in the game against us.

Ehlinger was 6'3 225 would be an awful OC hire.

Dude won a NC at Ohio State with that offense but sure, it couldn’t work in the SEC
