Do I really need to provide examples that proves this wrong?

All I can say is the decision is not nearly as simple as some make it out to be. Jimbo is the safest hire but by far is the most expensive route. Herman and Fedora have had some success but neither has really built and maintained a program. O seems to be able to run a team but there is no proof he can run a program.

the '03 season that we won our first NC since '58?
the #1 and #2 all-time LSU passing seasons?
would it be 5 of the top 10 passing yardage seasons at LSU are held by quarterbacks Jimbo coached?
5 of the top 10 highest single game passing yards in LSU history was under Jimbo?

Yes, if you throw Flynn in the equation that number goes up to 5. I was being conservative and only going with the seasons he coached. But it is clear from a review the LSU offensive record book who our best OC was in the history of the program.

Actually he was 29-25-3 at Oklahoma State before heading to Miami. Still better than 20-28

Lou Holtz 13-20

At William and Mary College.... He was then 33-12 at NC State, 60-21 at Arkansas, 10-12 at Minnesota, and 100-32 at Notre Dame before heading to South Carolina 3 years after

Context is your friend or are you trying to intentionally be dishonest by cherry picking to promote "your guy"

Yes, Lou Holtz was 13-20 at William and Mary, he was then hired, not by Notre Dame or some other elite program, but NC State where he went 33-12-3. From there he went to Arkansas where he was 60-21-2. He did stop at Minnesota were he was 10-12 however, they were 1-10 the year before he was hired and he went 4-7, then 6-5. So when he was hired by an elite, top 5 (at the time) program his record wasn't 13-20, but 116-65-2. LINK

Jimmy Johnson was actually 29-25-3 at OK St (not sure where you got 21-21-2) before going to Miami. Once again a little context is order. Miami had just won the NC it's true before hiring JJ, however, just 5 month's earlier they were completely off the radar and were not yet considered an elite program. Also Schellenberger left in mid January for the USFL, so not exactly a great time to look for a coach and well, the world was different in 1984. Then coaches didn't change jobs as much. Most of the big programs promoted from within rather than hire an existing HC.

Chizik was WIDELY ridiculed as a hire and rightly so. He landed one of the all time greats in Newton* and rode him to a NC. His 2nd best season was 8-5. His overall record is 38-38, without the clear outlier 14-0 season he is 24-38.

*and before someone says Fisher only won with Winston he is 48-16 without Winston, that's a far cry from the Chiz without Cam.

Dig into O's 10 IC wins and what you find is he beat 9 teams he should have with 1 quality win : His wins : Stanford 11-3, Arizona 8-5, Ore State 7-6, Utah 5-7, Colorado 4-8, Cal 1-11, Mizzo 3-7, So Miss 5-5, OM 5-5, Arky 6-4.

His 3 losses as IHC? Notre Dame 9-4, UCLA 10-3, Alabama 10-0. Those are the 3 biggest games for USC and LSU .

Finally, someone gets it.

The whole thing has been fool's gold. It's a down year in the SEC. If we win out, none of O's wins will be against a team with less than 4 losses.

If that is your only criteria maybe we should just rehire Les Miles.

Holy shite.

I don't care who was the OC when they were playing, someone says Rohan/Reed, "hire whoever that was".
