Will ESPN College GameDay's mascot head tradition continue whenever it enters the post-Lee Corso era? Kirk Herbstreit had this answer...
quote:

"I've thought long and hard about the headgear," Herbstreit said. "I feel like that's a Lee Corso thing. And I think, depending on who you talk to, you might get varying opinions. I’ve sat next to him. This will be my 27th year, and I can't imagine when Lee decides to step down another person putting on the headgear. I most definitely will not ever put on a headgear. Whoever that person is, I can't imagine them feeling comfortable being asked to put on a headgear."

People can say what they want about Corso, but whenever he does step down it will be a sad day for College Football. ESPN Gameday will never be the same

I think Paul Finebaum will take over for Corso when he is gone.

Can't fit the headgear over his ears.

The only person goofy enough to fill Corso's shoes is Les Miles.

Orgeron would gladly play the on set buffoon as well, and just might be hirable.

I think Eli would be a good backfill and make the show better.

The headgear would hide his spray tan. He was looking as orange as the Donald on the Herbies show.

"will not ever put on a headgear." How else would we see you cry Kirk?

He would not do it because it would cover his face. Herbie loves him some Herbie. Plus, it may garble his words with all of his terrific insight. Miles to Michigan.

They will probably hire Luke Bryan and Fla Ga line full time to pick and sing.

Lee's picks were a lot of time contrarian but it is entertaining. I have no issue with it going away. Whatever they replace it with if too gimmicky will be ridiculed, rightfully.

I've loved Corso over the years, but it's long past time for him to step away.
