FWIW I don’t buy any of this rumor, but for the sake of fun how great would it be if this were announced this week before the Bama game.

I don’t believe the State could possibly be completely off the hook unless the University somehow removed ties from the State and even then I’m not sure it’s possible because even private universities have bonds with the respective States. That said it has never nor will it ever be an issue. LSU football has been self funded. If they weren’t profitable we wouldn’t have a 6mm AD searching for 10mm coach. People seem to forget this is a business because it’s tied to our public university.

It's always been state guaranteed... it's a state job, but there has been provisions for private money and LSU athletic foundation funding it. He is doing all of this stumping for one reason which is to get exposure. By the way the same thing happens at every state university. The main difference is that every other Governor is not trying to use the situation to get closer to Trump.

Answer the following questions:
1. Did the AD spend more than it earned last year? If so why?
- Nearly every school spends more than they make now. Emerging NiL taking away donations that used to go to the schools, Rev sharing and cost of staff has risen. Not to mention people went nuts over the recent ticket price adjustments and we are one of the cheapest tickets in big time athletics. So yea... it's normal
2. Did he hire a basketball coach that has drug down that program to one of the worst in the conference? What’s that salary commitment to McMahon?
-Well- pressure to cover the football program for shite that was going on before Woodward was what led to avoiding the WW disaster which left us as a most undesired BBall school requiring a crazy contract just to get someone. After all that I will still say it was a bad decision, but at the time it was justifiable.
3. Did he sign Jimbo Fisher at TAMU and Brian Kelly and did both cost their schools? And yes Fisher counts as he was only 3 years in if that monster 10 year deal. It was guaranteed and what was guaranteed was going to get paid regardless of the extension.
-He brought in Jimbo to aTm from FSU after winning a Natty which is unheard of and required a big deal. The extension is on Ross Bjork.
4 did he keep Verge A despite the fact he knowingly cost the university to pay out for Title IX violations because they are friends?
- If you think Verge is Woodwards boys and he protected him, maybe you can explain why he is being talked about as the next AD and at the minimum will stay on. That has to do with his wife's family ties to LA politics.

I can agree that Woodward makes big splash hires that aren't always best and that we should be using the consulting firms to find candidates with value, but there is an equal amount of pressure from our fan base to hire the big names because it feels like it justifies our stance as an elite program. What we should all be focused on is how poorly all of this was handled from Kelly's hiring and poor fit and contract to his firing without any plan to move forward, no University President and a Governor who can't manage to do his job(NOLA and BR were ranked among the most dangerous cities in the US). What has transpired is a stain on our University and State. Between Woodward, the Board of Regents, the Governor and the citizens arguing about this bullshite LA has further become the laught stock of the Country. It's an absolute shame.

We don’t need him as the coach. He should be the AD.

Frank doesn’t make that because he’s the RB coach. He’s what holds our LA recruiting together and honestly keeps the team together with all the BS around the program. There isn’t another man more liked inside and out of the organization. I also don’t think the lack of running was his call.

Look I get let’s let the Saban thing go, but to act like because he decided to go with the NiL landscape changes means that he can’t successfully do it is ridiculous. Saban would still be the premier coach in CFB without a doubt

Maybe this comes true but if that were to happen the BOR would have had to meet and a buyout approved. If that happened there would be a press release made ready before they even met with BK and his agent. I wish this were true but it seems very unlikely unless you have some direct sources.
