Well, that's a shame, but with the popularity of some of these new girls going into the league that may eventually change a bit. Those college eyeballs may follow them this time to the WNBA and soon may turn a profit.

Why is that a shame? There is no revenue to pay them more. The NBA supports the WNBA financially. As a business owner, if you have a product that is consumed in low volume, you dont make as much as the store down the street that has the product everyone wants.

That's why I said IF their college eyeballs follow them. It would mean more ticket sales and more fans watching on TV. The network can charge more to advertisers and the league can ask for more money from the network, while the players get a small rev share plus NBA subsidies. More money floats all boats.

She should have taken Ice Cubes $5 million. The WNBA is counting on this crop of women's college basketball stars to bring their tv ratings with them. But no one cares about the WNBA. They care about their schools. They may get some to follow Clark, Reese, etc., but it won't be enough to effect any major changes in tv deals. I'd like to see them make more, but the economics are not there.
