ESPN has reported that LSU defensive end Princewill Umanmielen was served with court papers related to the Rebels' lawsuit against him, according to court records.

Sources told ESPN he was served in the parking lot outside LSU's football facility.

The court documents included interrogatories, requests for documents and requests for admission in the lawsuit Ole Miss filed against Umanmielen and LSU offensive lineman Devin Harper in July.

Ole Miss is seeking $550,000 from Umanmielen and $400,000 from Harper, along with attorneys' fees and court costs, alleging both players breached revenue-sharing agreements before transferring to LSU.

Umanmielen reportedly signed an agreement to return to Ole Miss on Jan. 3 before entering the transfer portal on Jan. 20 and signing with LSU the following day.

The timing comes just days before No. 7 LSU travels to face No. 8 Ole Miss in Oxford, where Lane Kiffin will also make his highly anticipated return to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Umanmielen has five sacks and 11 tackles through LSU's first two games this season.

Kickoff from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.

I'm and LSU fan.... let me get that out the way. If LSU did that the week of the game, we would be praising the LSU team/group as "perfect timing" and "deliberate".

Sounds like a good idea, give him a reason to be even hungrier the week of the game. Idiots.

Or serve as a distraction.

He’s not a qb where this might be a concern. He has one mission…wreak havoc on chambliss.

He has one mission. Take chambliss out that game. Possibly the season.

LSU will pay it when he gets 3 sacks this weekend.

Break his knee or leg and he can probably get that and some.

If they owe it, pay it and be done with it. I think I'd argue the inclusion of attorneys' fees though.

This is so predictable before LSU plays Ole Miss. LSU or donors will end up picking up the tab. Was Devan Harper served papers? Petty on Ole Miss to do this.

I wonder who is gonna write the check? You know this is probably already lined up.

I agree. If he took that money in agreement to play for Ole Miss then leave. Yes pay back money. Make sure all parties get a 1099 form so federal tax can be paid. If they guys don’t pay send the IRS to collect.

Not sure how large the IRS staff is to pursue such things now that we've completely drained the swamp. Certainly there's a significant amount of persons / corporations who could have $$Billions in taxes owed that shouldn't surface / be investigated based upon investments into 2024 Federal Office candidates.

For a while, I was understanding of Ole Miss' pain and their anger toward LSU. I kind of felt sorry for them having experienced what a former LSU coach, Nick Saban, did to LSU multiple years as coach at Alabama. But after this, it is CLEAR they are beyond scorned. Ole Miss' athletic department is simply trash for this move against these LSU players. Karma is imminent and Ole Miss won't like it when it arrives, and I do not mean the game Saturday.

Ole Miss is not the first program to come after players who agreed to a NIL deal accepted money and then transferred. Georgia did it last season with a lineman. More schools will do this. It's a contract. The timing is stupid and obviously planned.

I question whether actual $$ funds transferred in that short window of time.

These players obviously owe Ole Miss the money. Players should have repaid Ole Miss already. The Players had signed contracts.
Not sure how you can dispute the facts.
user avatar
I dislike Ole Miss as much or more than most, but players leaving schools and not fulfilling contractual obligations will result in things like this. Players need to expect this going forward now that they are professionals. Either adjust the contracts accordingly to cover non-payment of the player leaves or be expected to be sued to repay it.

LSU can use this as a recruiting tool. tell them how petty and vindictive Ole Piss is towards players that change their mind.

Kind of like a rejected crazy ex girl friend.

He might get 5 sacks in this game alone just to prove a point and then throw his papers on Ole Piss’s sideline

I now officially HATE those jealous, petty bastards. Will these jerks EVER get over Lane Kiffin taking the LSU job? I've tried to have patience with them, but this is bottom-of-the-barrel scumbaggery.
