Tight ends coach Steve Ensminger has been given a contract extension and a raise, according to documents released by the LSU Board of Supervisors.

Ensminger, the longtime college football assistant and former LSU quarterback, received an extension through the 2018 season and a $25,000 raise to a $325,000 salary. His contract had ended in March. The 59-year-old was operating on a rollover year.

Congratulations to Steve! Last season would've really tanked had he not been willing to step into a "hot mess" and take over as OC. He showed his real dedication to LSU. And for those of you who want to gripe about Ensminger and his low profile or lackluster position of "TE Coach," don't forget he was also the main recruiter for Devin White.

If the players did have to seperate O and Canada, they have a way out of O. Ensminger is the clear choice for the talks like us crowd. In short, I really want to know if O threw a punch.

We heard you the 3rd time. Remember last year when he came in to pinch hit as OC. This is his reward.

This tells me O is firing Canada in a matter of weeks, maybe days.

Seems weird to be paying a TE coach that much especially when LSU hasn't developed a decent TE in decades.

Alleva attempt to create stability I guess. Fix the rift on the coaching staff ?? Will tbey make a move on Canada if offense struggles? That woudknt be smart but they are already in desperation mode 5 games in. Wow

Ensminger has been a solid asset as a coach and recruiter for the Tigers for his whole time here. Bleeds purple and gold without asking for any credit for what he did last year. Total team player! Great job Steve!

Tell me again how a TE coach lost us the game to Troy? This man seems to be a better play caller than our current OC. He deserved a raise.

I'm not saying he didn't deserve the pay raise but the timing of this is incredibly bad.

Well that depends on when his contract was up... I guess

Yea, it was all Ensminger's fault we loss. Seems to me we got at least one TE touchdown pass during the Troy game. You are a moron PortHudsonLooza
