LSU running back Kaleb Jackson is reportedly entering the transfer portal after three years with the Tigers.

Jackson joins running back JuJuan Johnson, who announced his plans to enter the transfer portal earlier this week.

Jackson, a former four-star prospect from Liberty Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, played in every game during his first two seasons at LSU but only appeared in four games this past season.

He rushed for 165 yards and four touchdowns during his freshman season, but his productivity decreased in year two with the emergence of freshman Caden Durham in 2024.

Durham and freshman Harlem Berry handled the bulk of the carries this past season and head into the Texas Bowl as LSU's only running backs on the roster.

Best of luck, Mr. Jackson.

LSU will have a strong RB room in 2026. Good luck to the young man, but he didn't live up to expectations at LSU.

He probably needs to be running out of an ‘I’ formation

Come on guys, he is a traditional power back who needs to be in the eye with a lead blocker, not behind a poor OL and misfit scheme for him.

That is why this falls on Kelly, he constantly tried to ram a square peg into a round hole with just about everyone on the Offense.

I hope he goes somewhere he can thrive, but the fact may be that his skillset does not work in the modern game. We will see.

Lane needs to go have a talk with Kaleb and JJ. I think they both have potential, but were ruined by BK.
They deserve to be Tigers. Lane, do not throw these baws away! The truth is, all of our running backs had trouble and need to be re-recruited by Lane or we will lose all of them.

He just didn’t have great vision but man what a power back he is if he can ever learn to see the field. I hope he goes somewhere and does good.

Don't care. He never showed any talent after his one bull run vs Mississippi State.

Durham is the best RB we have. I think Berry was guaranteed to see action as a freshman and that's what got his signature. I hope Jackson finds a program that will give him an opportunity because I don't think he's a pretty good RB.

Never had a legitimate opportunity. First year looked incredible.

I wish him luck, hope he sticks to an in-state school!

He has a lot of talent and showed flashes from time to time, but Kelly's staff could never coach a line to produce an effective runner who wasn't JD. I hope Jackson shows his real potential wherever he goes.

Let's make a pact we never mention Brian Kelly's name again. I didn't like his hiring & never thought he was a good coach anywhere.

God, everything gets blamed on Kelly. Let me tell you Jackson's REAL problems. He is fast and physical but he can't cut. And his vision of the LOS is either poor or he knows he can't cut so he runs into the pile. He was overrated out of HS, and let me guess, that was Brian Kelly's fault also. You anti-Kelly minions need to quit blaming bad weather and everything else on Brian Kelly. Jackson met his potential and it wasn't good enough to start at a good FBS program. 'nuff said.

Well yes. This BK’s fault also. If you recognized deficiencies, then surely the elite college coach would notice said deficiencies? So yes, scouting and lack of development are both on the New England
dumpster fire, Brian Kelly

Yeah, I thought and he should have transferred last season. He simply isn't a high quality FBS back. Whereever he goes will prove that statement.
