Five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys has flipped his commitment from LSU to Tennessee just six months after committing to the Tigers.

Keys, a 6-3, 180-pounder from Hattiesburg, Miss., is the No. 1 wide receiver in the country for the class of 2026.

He originally committed to the Tigers back in March, over the Vols, Alabama, and Texas A&M.

3 out of Mississippi top 20 commits are to out of state schools. 2 remain committed to LSU. Mississippi is, consistently, the poorest state in the country. They are looking to leave their destitute situation. Louisiana’s poverty rate is a close second, which makes LSU recruiting look stellar, because we don’t lose many of our best recruits. When thinking about recruiting, one must take into consideration states historical poverty and how that impact recruits. Coaches who, truly, understand recruits backgrounds have an edge.

NIL at work and it's best. To all those who got on the "poor athletes are taken advantage of" BS. Welcome to your world. One question...why would a alum or group give these kids any money cuz they can and will be gone in a minute. Really effing stupid.

We knew this. He has been on the verge of flipping since he committed. It’s a pretty easy path these guys are carving: commit to LSU (the place you develop and get sent to the NFL) and wait til a bigger bag comes along. If the bag doesn’t come through, stay at LSU. Thankfully, it’s the guys that grow up in the state that generally go on to star.

And with current trends. He will likely flip to another team that is willing to pay more before it’s all said and done. Until they are enrolled and at school it’s not final. And then, they still may jump ship during the next open transfer portal window……

I fully expected this and said so months ago on another site when he committed to LSU. Both these written back in March after his verbal. The first statement is obvious but I haven't seen a lot of people mention the second one. 1) "NIL money is the most important factor in recruiting now in 75% of the signees." 2) "unless the MS WR Keys ends up decommitting from LSU as MS players tend to do" Seems to me, MS players are about the worst in the country at committing to one school to get the prestige, etc, and then turning around and reneging.
