We're pre-firing coaches now? What a college football world, what a world...
quote:

USA TODAY — Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin met with a handful of influential boosters Tuesday, and was told continuing financial support depends on new direction within the football program, three people with direct knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports.

The people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect the ongoing process, said embattled Florida coach Billy Napier could be fired as soon as this weekend. One thing is certain: Napier won't survive another loss.

Billy is going to be fine. He can laugh all the way to the bank with the millions of dollars the Gators are going to be paying him. Coaches get a guaranteed golden parachute when they sign the employment contract. There are no performance marks that must be met to get the $. Insane but that how it is when you spend OPM.

Does he get a pre-buyout?
user avatar
They will throw 75 hookers with blow at him between now and Sunday. Gotta pull out the tricks to get him to make a mistake to fire with cause so they can avoid the buyout.

Jist think if they had held on to Dan Mullen. Yes, he had that one bad year, but Mullen is a good coach. A very good coach. Even if he didn't recruir much, he was only like 2 years away from just paying Florida kids to come there. His style of offense works in the SEC. He developed QBs with the best of em.

He was never going to make it through this schedule without being fired.

Yep absolutely ridiculous schedule for someone to save a job against

CFB is so dumb. Just fire him now to hedge against him going on a W streak and rallying the fanbase.

I think Florida's new coach will be their 5th coach in 13 years. Not much stability.

Florida 5 coaches in 13 years. LSU 5 coaches in 31 years. You must be dyslexic, as one is not like the other.

You forgot the part where Miles was at LSU for nearly 12 years.

Maybe he can quiet quit before he gets pre fired

Him trying is as bad in terms of on field results as most coaches quiet quitting

It appears that he's been quiet quitting since spring camp.

If I had thought that there was a real chance that Billy would be permanent head coach, I would have pre-quit bring a Florida fan. And you might be saying to yourself, “Well that's pretty premature to think,” but I always say, it's better to be pre-pre-pre-prepared
