Yall said the same thing about JD5 his first year. Sam made some crazy plays last night. Once he settles in and makes the routine consistently sky is the limit. The kid didn’t go full speed till August. It takes time

Yep. Kiffin knows he’s handcuffed and there’s not much he can do about it. Just got to find a better option after the season.

I don't know about that. Kiffin always speaks highly of him and seems to love him. He was hugging him hard after the game. He loves his grit. I can see that too. Guy is tough and has heart he's just limited. The guy can't read or process defenses and locks-on too much. He hasn't improved as a passer since ASU in what, his 4th year college?
I don't see what Lane thinks he has in this guy. He needs to cut bait and get someone else. I'm sure Miss State's QB would be more than happy to be the highest paid QB in NCAA ball next year. We're not getting our ROI with Leavitt. Sorry but it is true. I like his heart but he's not an SEC QB.

I trust Weiss & Kiffin can help Leavitt read defenses better each week. He missed some wide open check downs. He was under so much pressure he was very quick to run & poor mechanics caused him to miss throws.

Nothing will improve quarterback play until we get consistent OL play. OM defensive line was in our backfield all night.

Not just that. He gets too excited in the huddle, before the snap he looks like a nervous wreck. He yelled at his receivers in game 1, gets in teammates faces, runs up and down the sidelines like a female cheerleader. Watch his body language.

I'm sorry but this is not true. JD5 showed he had all the attributes to be a great QB even when he struggled. His issue was always CONFIDENCE. Everyone would scream just throw the ball you see it throw the ball. Until the light finally came on for him.
He had everything. Running ability, he read defenses well, he threw great intermediate throws, he was fairly accurate, etc. It was all confidence for him and anyone with eyes could see it.
Sam does not have any of what JD5 had. He's the polar opposite. He can't read a defense, he locks-on, he doesn't go through progressions, he gets happy feat when it's not there, doesn't have accuracy, and trusts his legs too much. He's in year 4 and still hasn't progressed. JD5 is a horrible comparison because he's nothing like SL.
