will be in Boston for a couple of days with the Family for a couple of days at the end of a Maine trip in late July. Never been to Boston and would appreciate recs on what part of the city to stay in. Bonus for specific hotel recs. thanks

Back Bay. Just got back from a trip staying with family who live in that area. Very walkable to lots of things.

Went with my family last summer. We stayed in Back Bay in an upscale apartment building we found on AirBnB

We stayed near Mason st. By the Boston Common and it was ok. Theater district. it was ok, but quite a few homeless people on the street around there walking back later in the evening. I’d probably stay in a different area next time.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Park Plaza and really liked the hotel and location. The Marriott Longwharf is another that I like. But I’ve stayed all over the city though, including multiple times in the Seaport to save money. Southie a time or two as well. Boston is very walkable and safe for a big city.

Back Bay is great. I've really enjoyed The Newbury the times I've stayed there. Great location across from the garden.

We stayed at the Liberty and loved the flexibility with the subway station right there.

We were there over Memorial Day weekend…..stayed at The Dagny. Would definitely recommend……..we had a suite with a living room, much larger space than other hotels in big cities.

It’s located in the financial district.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency (One Ave de Lafayette) last year for July 4th and it was just about ideal. We spent a full day walking and easily got to everywhere we wanted after the uber ride from the Airport. It's not a city I'd attempt driving in. Just a really cramped city.

Next to Boise, it was the cleanest cities I've ever been in. Perhaps that was extra effort for Independence Day crowds, but never really felt unsafe at all anywhere we went and my wife is fairly touchy with event he slightest bit of sketchy city stuff.

We flew into and out of Boston with Maine and NH in the middle of the trip. Took an Uber to the hotel. Did Boston and Ubered back out to the airport for our rental for the rest of the trip.

We did go back into the city to see the Museum the day we flew out. Parked at museum garage, ubered to lunch and back. Just riding the Uber made me doubly glad we didn't attempt to drive anywhere downtown. Getting to the museum of art was fun enough.
